The US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) have been developing momentum in the city of Raqqah.
Clashes are now ongoing between the SDF and ISIS in the neighborhoods of Al-Amin, Al-Hani, Rumaila and Al-Rawda, the SDF media wing said in a statement.
The SDF reportedly killed 49 ISIS members and destroyed a motorcycle bomb in the recent clashes. In turn, 3 SDF members were killed and 4 others wounded.
The statement added that the US-backed force seized 21 Kalashnikov automatic rifles and 50 RPG launchers.
Earlier this week reports appeared that almost entire Rumaila district was captured by the SDF. However, the official report de-facto denied this.
On September 17, the SDF liberated Mu’assat Hospital, located between Al-Amin and Al-Taqana killing some 32 ISIS members, according to another SDF statement.
