At the end of the year, everyone sums up the results of the year 2022, the Ukrainian border guards were no exception. In 2022, air alert sounded about 14,870 times in Ukraine, according to an infographic published by the country’s State Border Service.
Most often, sirens were heard in the eastern regions of the country and less often they sounded in Western Ukraine. As for the capital, air alert sounded 638 times in Kiev since the beginning of the Russian military operation on February 24.
According to the reports by 24tv.ua, on average, the alert sounded 47 times a day throughout the country. The record daily number was recorded on August 24, the Independence Day of Ukraine, when alert sounded 189 times.
Most often air alert sounded in Ukrainian regions in the first days of the Russian special military operation when Russian missiles hit a lot of Ukrainian military facilities, including airfields and air defence systems. Also air alert have been heard throughout Ukraine on a regular basis since October 10, when the Russian military began to strike at the country’s energy infrastructure facilities in response to Kiev’s terrorist attacks, including the explosion on the Crimean Bridge.
Ukrainian statistics seem a bit inaccurate as they include data from territories that are not under the control of the Kiev regime, including the Donbass and Crimea.
