Russian troops have achieved another tactical victory in the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR), liberating the village of Dyleevka after intense combat operations. On June 24th, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reported that units of the Southern military grouping, including the 4th Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade of the 3rd Army Corps, raised the Russian flag over the settlement following a coordinated assault involving infantry, artillery, and drone operators.
The village of Dyleevka is located north of Dzerzhinsk (former Toretsk) on the southeastern flank of the Konstantinovka direction. There are two settlementS with the same name located in the area. In the smaller one located right on the outskirts of Dzerxhinsk, there is an important railway station, which was captured by the Russian military. The Russian Defense Ministry did not clarify, which village was liberated on June 24, but according to the field reports, both of them are already under full Russian control.
The capture of Dyleevka is part of a broader offensive aimed at tightening the noose around Konstantinovka, a key Ukrainian stronghold in the region. Russian forces have been advancing along multiple axes, with Belaya Gora and the Kleban-Byk Reservoir serving as focal points of the operation.
While progress has been made southeast of Konstantinovka, Ukrainian forces have fiercely resisted Russian attempts to encircle the city from the southwest. Earlier assaults on Yablunovka and Aleksandro-Kalinovo stalled due to large Ukrainian reinforcement, including well-entrenched units of the Azov Brigade, which have proven far more resilient than the territorial defense troops previously deployed in the area.
Criticism has emerged over the tactics employed by the Russian 150th Motorized Rifle Division, which has repeatedly launched mechanized assaults against fortified Ukrainian positions, resulting in heavy losses with minimal gains. Military analysts suggest that Russian command should instead adopt the more effective small-unit infiltration tactics used by the 4th and 132nd Motorized Rifle Brigades, which have successfully advanced near Dyleevka and Belaya Gora.
To the north, Russian troops continue the mop up operations destroying Ukrainian fortifications west of the Seversky Donets-Donbas canal, further weakening Kyiv’s defensive lines.
Though not the main focus of current operations, fighting in Chasov Yar remains brutal, with Russian troops continuing the mop up operations on Ukrainian positions in the southern districts. The eventual fall of the town would significantly undermine Kyiv’s ability to defend Konstantinovka’s eastern approaches, further isolating Ukrainian forces in the region.
Battles are already ongoing south of Stupochki, where the Russian army is approaching the outskirts of Konstantinovka.
The liberation of Dyleevka marks another step in Russia’s gradual advance towards Konstantinovka, but the offensive is far from over. Ukrainian forces continue to resist fiercely, particularly in southwestern sectors where Russian assaults have faced stiff opposition. If Russian commanders adjust their tactics to minimize costly frontal assaults and instead focus on flanking maneuvers the momentum could again shift decisively in Moscow’s favor.
hehehe, the russians are still using outdated tactics that are getting the russians killed and captured. expect to see videos of captured russian soldiers with hm their hands tied behind their backs and brains blown out. just like old times, the russian orcs never learn!
