Six Israeli soldiers were killed on September 18 in two separate attacks that took place in the occupied West Bank and the Gaza Strip, where the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) is conducting a major offensive.
In the afternoon, two soldiers, a reservist in the Civil Administration and a liaison officer with foreign forces in the IDF’s Tevel international cooperation unit, were killed in a shooting and stabbing attack near Allenby Crossing between the West Bank and Jordan. The attacker was identified as a Jordanian citizen who had been driving a humanitarian aid truck headed for Gaza.
The IDF said after the attack that security forces had “neutralized the terrorist” at the scene of the attack, adding that troops were carrying out scans in the area for additional suspects and briefly encircled the nearby town of Jericho.
In a statement, the Jordanian Foreign Ministry announced that the country’s security forces had launched an investigation into “the shooting incident” on the Israeli side of the Allenby Crossing.
The Allenby Crossing attack was clearly a reaction to the IDF’s ongoing offensive in Gaza, codenamed “Operation Gideon’s Chariots B,” which began two days earlier.
Citing Palestinian health officials, Al-Jazeera said that 48 Palestinians were killed in Israeli attacks across the Strip during the day, including 37 in Gaza City.
The IDF’s 98th Division, an elite formation of paratroopers and commando units, is currently operating in Gaza City alongside the 162nd Division, which was already deployed there before the start of the offensive. A third division, the 36th, is set to join the offensive in the coming few days.
The IDF didn’t report any progress during the day, but said that 450,000 Palestinians out of one million who were living in Gaza City have already left.
While the IDF has not yet faced any resistance from Hamas or other Palestinian armed factions in Gaza City, in the morning it took a blow in the southern part of the Strip, specifically in Rafah, where a roadside bomb struck a Humvee armored vehicle killing four soldiers.
The IDF acknowledged the deaths later in night, revealing that all four slain soldiers were serving in the Bahad 1 officers’ school’s Dekel Battalion. One of them was a company commander, while the other three troops were cadets.

The offensive in Gaza City is supposedly meant to force Hamas to disarm, release all the remaining hostages and leave Gaza altogether.
The attacks in the Allenby Crossing and Rafah are likely just the start of the reaction to the IDF’s offensive. While Israel will likely end up occupying all of Gaza City, Hamas will not likely surrender. In addition, the tragic humanitarian situation of Palestinians in the Strip will likely generate more pressure on Israel.

israel destroyed all camera evidence of the gaza prison camp surveillance system. buried all nova festival vehicles destroyed by hellfire missiles immediately. then covered up any and all evidence to hide the october 7 false flag event. any common sense questioning of israeli activities and timelines on that day is ignored. some israelis who may have had friends or relatives involved are very, very aware of this con.
