On January 5, several videos documenting some of the Russian military’s recent operations against Kiev forces surfaced online.
15 of the videos show a series of drone attacks, some carried out with Lancet loitering munitions, that targeted Ukrainian troops, posts and equipment, including other drones, across several directions within the special military operation zone over the last few days.
Two more videos show attacks with TOS thermobaric rocket launchers on Ukrainian fortifications near the settlement of Riasne in the direction of Sumy and and in another unspecified area in the direction of Kharkiv.
Three additional videos show airstrikes with UMPK-equipped guided glide bombs that targeted positions of Kiev forces in the settlement of Staritsa in Kharkiv, as well as close to the settlements of Malinovka, Rodinskoye, and Grishino in the direction of Donetsk.
In its daily briefing, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced that missile, drone and artillery strikes hit “enterprises of the Ukrainian defense industry, the infrastructure of military airfields, production and assembly workshops of long-range unmanned aerial vehicles, a training center for drone operators, temporary deployment areas of the AFU (Armed Forces of Ukraine) and foreign mercenaries in 148 areas” over the past 24 hours.
The ministry also said that Russian air defenses shot down three guided bombs, three HIMARS projectiles, and at least 356 Ukrainian fixed-wing drones.
According to the ministry, Kiev forces have lost 669 aircraft, 283 helicopters, 107,569 drones, 642 air defense systems, 26,922 tanks and other armored fighting vehicles, 1,636 multiple rocket launchers, 32,390 artillery pieces, and 50,851 support vehicles since the start of the special military operation.
