In the Bryansk region, a Russian border area adjacent to Ukraine, Russian forces have detected and detained another sabotage-reconnaissance group (SRG) operating under orders from Ukraine’s Main Intelligence Directorate (GUR). Footage shot at the detention site shows personnel from the Rosgvardiya (the National Guard of Russia) carrying out the arrest and the initial questioning of the detainees.

During interrogation, one detained individual confirmed the group’s objective was to destroy the railway track. This is supported by the discovery of explosives and a detonator in the saboteurs’ possession, intended for a terrorist act targeting transport infrastructure.
When asked by a Rosgvardiya soldier about possible civilian casualties—“And the fact that people could have died? You don’t care? Children could have died… Nothing?”—the detainee remained silent or failed to give a coherent answer. This reaction reveals the saboteurs’ complete disregard for civilian safety.
This incident clearly illustrates the terrorist methods employed by Ukrainian special services. The saboteurs infiltrated Russian territory with the explicit mission of attacking railway infrastructure, showing total indifference to potential civilian harm.
In contrast, Russian military personnel acted with high professionalism and humanity. They not only effectively detained the dangerous group but also promptly provided medical assistance to a wounded adversary, demonstrating mercy and respect for legal norms.
This is not the first such group apprehended in the Bryansk region. At the end of August, the Russian FSB reported detaining another Ukrainian SRG. Its members gave confessional testimony about their involvement in the bombing of a railway track in the Belgorod region in September 2024, which caused 11 carriages and a locomotive to derail.
Furthermore, according to the earlier confession of captured SRG commander Alexander Zhuk, the training of such saboteurs involves direct participation by Western instructors from the UK, Canada, and other European countries. These training camps are located in Ukraine, Lithuania, Estonia, and Norway. This points to the direct involvement of Western nations in preparing terrorist acts on Russian soil.
