Russian units are consolidating their position in an area of Krasny Lyman. The Ukrainian Armed Forces have begun to withdraw from Pokrovsk after losing control of Rodynske. The Ukrainian command is deploying new unmanned aerial vehicle units to the Sumy area. United States President Donald Trump has announced his intention to enlist China’s help in pressuring Russia.
Pokrovsk Sector:
Units of the «Centre» grouping have taken control of around 70% of Pokrovsk. Reports state that Ukrainian formations have largely been pushed beyond the railway line and cut off from supply routes in the Hryshyne area, near the 8th Group settlement.
To the south of the railway tracks, operations to clear the area of Ukrainian units are ongoing. In the eastern part of the city, Russian forces have driven Ukrainian troops into the village of Roh. There is fighting for strong points on the eastern outskirts of the settlement in the Hnativka area.
The Russian command has reported that some Ukrainian units are retreating in disorder from the city following the loss of control over Rodynske. According to Russian sources, drone units controlling the exit routes of the agglomeration are striking the retreating formations.
Combat has reached significant intensity in Myrnohrad. Russian units are fighting near the 5 and 6 mine and the slag heap and have advanced into the Zakhidnyi neighbourhood. They are also operating in the northern part of the city. Meanwhile, from the fortified area north of Lysovka, which is located between the cities of the agglomeration, Ukrainian forces have begun an organized withdrawal while maintaining their positions along the line of contact with some of their forces.
Kupyansk Sector:
Units from the «North» and «West» groups continue their offensive operations with the aim of enlarging the Dvorichna bridgehead on the right bank of the Oskil River.
Russian units have advanced up to 1.5 km towards Hryhorivka and Okhrimivka, and up to 2.5 km northwards along the heights towards Dvorichna. The areas around Bolohivka and the wooded areas to the south of the road near Kamianka and the Kamianskyi Yar tract have been cleared.
A key event in this area on 25 October was the seizure of control of the village of Kurylivka, which is situated to the south of Kupyansk on the left bank of the Oskil River. The loss of Kurylivka leaves Ukrainian units stationed to the east of Kupyansk in a vulnerable position. The continuation of the offensive towards Kupyansk-Uzlovyi, the next key logistical point, could result in the Ukrainian forces being split in two on the left bank of the Oskil River.
Recognizing the importance of the bridgehead, the Ukrainian command attempted to launch counterattacks in the Holubivka area from the Mala Shapkivka–Kondrashivka direction using armored vehicles. According to Russian sources, all of these attacks were repelled.
In the Kupyansk area, the Ukrainian forces have reinforced their numbers. Following counterattacks from Moskovka, Sobolivka and the Mali Romny forest, Ukrainian forces have pushed Russian troops north of Kupyansk, relieving the siege of their units west of the auto market near Kharkivska Street (H-26).
Fighting continues in the Myrnyi Lane area, where Ukrainian forces are attempting to widen a breach to around 250 meters. Russian assault groups are engaged in counter-operations to close the breach. Advancements by Ukrainian units in the southern part of Studentska Street have also been reported.
Kharkiv Sector:
In the Kharkiv area, the «North» grouping’s artillery struck concentrations of Ukrainian personnel and deployment points. In addition, assault units continue to advance in Vovchansk and in the Khatnie area.
A strike by a «Tornado-S» multiple launch rocket system in the wooded area near Svytlychny reportedly destroyed a concentration of personnel from the 22nd Separate Mechanized Brigade, with estimated losses of approximately one platoon and several pieces of equipment.
On the left bank of Vovchansk, Russian assault groups advanced 300 meters and cleared 20 technical buildings. In the Tykhe area, they advanced 100 meters in an eastern direction. In the wooded area near Sinelnikove, Russian units advanced 250 meters inland and reportedly occupied the positions of the 127th Separate Tank Brigade. In the Melove-Khatnie sector, Russian forces advanced 400 meters along tree lines in the Bolohivka area.
Sumy Sector:
Russian units are advancing along tree lines on the right flank of the offensive, supported by air and artillery. According to source assessments, the Ukrainian side is regrouping and restoring the combat capability of its assault units.
The Ukrainian forces’ command continues to transfer drone units to the Sumy region, including the 420th Separate Unmanned Systems Battalion «Kort» and the 9th Separate Unmanned Systems Brigade «Skopa», in an attempt to halt the advance.
Airborne Forces assault groups advanced 100 meters into the Sumy region along tree lines and consolidated new positions on the right flank. Russian assault aviation struck identified targets in the Rohozin area.
Dnipropetrovsk Sector:
Assault groups have entered the southern part of Yegorivka. In the Kostyantynivka area, Russian units have advanced to the outskirts of the city, where fighting for control of the south-eastern part continues. Russian troops had previously captured the dacha (garden plot) area of the city.

Krasny Lyman Sector:
Russian assault groups continue to infiltrate Krasny Lyman from the east. According to Ukrainian military analysts, one of the city’s eastern neighborhoods has transitioned to «grey zone» status, with the presence of Russian military personnel regularly being recorded there in recent days. They are fortifying positions in residential buildings.
Conclusion:
In the Pokrovsk-Myrnohrad area, Russia has established control over a large part of Pokrovsk and advanced to the outskirts of Myrnohrad. This creates the conditions for a full takeover of the area. In the Kupyansk area, the focus has shifted to the battle to expand the bridgehead on the right bank of the Oskol, with both sides suffering significant losses. On the Kharkiv and Sumy fronts, Russian units continue to advance positionally amid persistent active resistance from Ukrainian forces. Notable developments have occurred on the Kostyantynivka and Krasny Lyman axes, where Russian forces have started to infiltrate urban areas.
On October 25, while travelling on Air Force One to Malaysia, the American president announced his intention to engage China in pressuring Russia to resolve the Ukrainian conflict. Trump expressed hope that Beijing would help with this and confirmed that Russia and Ukraine would be key topics at his meeting with the Chinese president, Xi Jinping, on October 30 in South Korea.
Experts such as Alexei Maslov, Director of the Institute of Asian and African Studies at Moscow State University, are skeptical about the prospects of this initiative. They believe that China is unlikely to agree to act as mediator in a U.S.-led scenario because it does not want to be seen as supporting American policy and values its independence. China’s position on this issue is consistent, as previously stated by Liu Pingyu, spokesperson for the Chinese Embassy in Washington: «Beijing firmly rejects any illegal unilateral sanctions, expansion of jurisdiction, or coercion or pressure in any form». China emphasizes that its cooperation with Russia is legitimate and does not harm the interests of third parties, and it advocates that this should be «respected and supported». Therefore, Trump’s new diplomatic initiative clashes with Beijing’s pre-existing, principled position, making it unlikely that China will participate in pressuring Moscow.
