The Houthis (Ansar Allah) launched a barrage of ballistic missiles and drones at the central Yemeni province of Marib late on August 16.
Fayyad al-Numan, minister of information in the internationally recognized Yemeni government backed by Saudi Arabia, said on X, citing local sources, that the Houthis had targeted civilian infrastructure with several ballistic missiles. The sources reported explosions across the province, believed to have been caused by missiles fired at Marib.
Al-Numan said the extent of any damage was not immediately clear, but casualties were feared given the city’s dense population, which includes large numbers of internally displaced people.
Meanwhile, state-run Saba TV reported that the Houthis had resumed shelling Marib city, hitting it with three ballistic missiles.
Government-aligned Aljoumhouriya TV reported, from its side, that three large explosions rocked the city as a result of the attack.
The local authority in Marib later said Houthi forces had targeted residential neighborhoods with four ballistic missiles and four drones.
Saba followed up by reporting that the missile and drone attack wounded several civilians and damaged residents’ property.
The Houthis announced a “maritime blockade” against Saudi Arabia last month, and since then, the group has carried out a series of attacks targeting Saudi airports, oil facilities, Yemeni government forces, infrastructure in the country, and tankers in the Red Sea.
Just a day earlier, the Houthis launched ballistic missiles at the port of Mokha and its surroundings in western Yemen, killing at least six people.
This escalation came amid reports suggesting that Saudi Arabia is preparing an offensive against the Houthis, including a potential ground operation, in cooperation with the Yemeni government. The group is clearly attempting to deter the kingdom and its allies.

its hard to understand this picture. the yemen government was installed by the house of saud. will ansar allah overthrow the government ? the globalist / zionist death cult will respond with more terrorist genocides ?
it seems that the time has come for the houthi’s to cut the strings of the current saudi puppet that rules over most of yemen. they now have the missiles to do it. the saudi admin shot their bolt some years ago which didn’t hit its mark. they are hardly likely to defend puppet central if they couldn’t beat the houthi’s on open ground with us weapons.
