A suicide drones swarm launched by the Yemeni Air Force, an ally of the Houthis, attacked the southern Saudi airport of Jizan in the late hours of June 29.

Brig. Gen. Yahya Sari, a spokesman for the Yemeni group, said that several Qasef-2K unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) stuck warplanes shelters and several other military positions in Jizan’s international airport.

“Our forces will continue to target all military sites and installations of the enemy, including airports used for military purposes, from which warplanes and helicopters take off to bomb Yemen, they are considered legitimate targets for our forces,” the spokesman said in a short statement released by the al-Masirah TV.

From its side, the Saudi-led coalition announced that its air-defense systems had intercepted a UAV of the Houthis over ‘Asir. The coalition’s statement didn’t mention any other UAVs, which means that they may have hit their targets.

In the last two weeks, the Houthis attacked several strategic facilities in Saudi Arabia’s southern region demonstrating their ever growing offensive capabilities. The Yemeni groups carried out its attacks with suicide UAVs, precision-guided rockets and even cruise missiles.
