Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) claimed on July 24 that one of its special forces units had carried out a hit and run attack on a position of the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) in in northern Hama.
“A special operation by the Red Bands [offical name of HTS’ special forces] on one of the criminal regime’s positions near Qasabiyeh in northern Hama,” the terrorist group’s news agency, Iba’a, said in a short press release.
A military source denied HTS’ claims and told SouthFront that northern Hama didn’t witness any infiltration attempt in the last 24 hours. This explains why the terrorist group’s claims didn’t include the results of the supposed attack.

Last week, HTS and its allies carried out a large-scale attack on Qasabiyeh. The attack was a complete failure with the militants suffering from heavy losses.
HTS’ false claims are likely a propaganda stunt meant to raise the morale of its supporters and militants following the recent setback in Qasabiyeh.
