The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) uncovered four tons of US-made M58A3 C4 line charges during a recent search operation in the Yarmouk basin in western Daraa, the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) revealed on June 1.

The M58A3 line charges are a part of the M58 Mine Clearing Line Charge (MICLIC) system, which was designed to provide a “close-in” demining capability for the U.S. Army. Each charge is more than 106meters long. They are usually deployed with a MK22 Mod 4 rocket.
Between 2017 and 2018, Free Syrian Army (FSA) groups used the MICLIC system as an offensive weapon against the SAA’s positions in the southern city of Daraa.
This was not the first time the SAA uncovered explosive charges of the MICLIC in southern Syria. Last February, the army found several M58A3 charges in a former military base in the region.
The MICLIC system was supplied to FSA groups in Daraa and al-Quneitra by the US-led Military Operations Center (MOC) in Jordan. The MOC was dissolved last year following the defeat of the FSA in southern Syria on the hands of the SAA.
