The Houthis (Ansar Allah) have released video footage documenting the July 7 deadly attack on the Liberian-flagged, Greek-owned bulk carrier ship Eternity C in the Red Sea off the shores of Yemen’s Hodeidah.
In a statement claiming responsibility for the attack, Houthi military spokesman Brig. Gen. Yahya Saree revealed that the ship was targeted with a drone both in addition to six ballistic and cruise missiles.
“The targeting of the aforementioned vessel came after the company it belongs to and the vessel itself resumed operations with the port of Umm al-Rashrash [Eilat], in clear violation of the ban on operations with the aforementioned port. It also came after the vessel refused calls and warnings from the Yemeni naval forces,”
“The Yemeni Armed Forces affirm their continued blockade of Israeli shipping in the Red and Arabian Seas. They reiterate their warning to all companies dealing with the ports of occupied Palestine that their ships and crews will be targeted in any area within the reach of the armed forces, regardless of the destination of those ships,” the spokesman continued.
“This stance aims to compel the Zionist enemy and those behind it to lift the siege on our brothers in Gaza, stop the aggression against them, and end the ongoing war of extermination against them in full view of the entire world,” he added.
The footage released by the Houthis shows the launch of three ballistic missiles and one cruise missile at Eternity C. The ship took at least five direct impacts, including one right under the bridge, two on its deck, and two on its side, before sinking completely.
Four of the ship’s crew were killed in the attack. Six others were rescued by the European Union’s Operation Aspides force. The remaining 15 crew members were reported to be missing, but the Houthis’ statement indicates that they were evacuated to Yemen by the group.
The Houthis have carried out more than 100 attacks targeting shipping from November 2023 in response to the Israeli war on Gaza. The attacks sank four ships, killing at least eight sailors, including the last four. Another ship was seized by the group.
Eternity C was the second ship to be sunk by the Houthis this week. On July 6, the Liberian-flagged, Greek-owned bulk carrier Magic Seas sank after being targeted by the group, also off the shores of Hodeidah.
The latest attacks show that the Houthis are improving their maritime warfare tactics, picking ships sailing closer to Yemen, attacking them with a wide range of weapons then dispatching marines to finish off the vessels.

the navy is still trying to get its aircraft carrier working. the big end has gone again. it’s still awaiting another consignment of superglue to glue the submarines back together. but when it does, mark my words, those houthis had better watch out! britannia rules the waves! what-ho! toodle pip!

if ur on a ship and its cargo contains goods and weapons for the colony, ur a legitimate target. that includes the sailors
go houthis! 👏💪
i feel sorry for the sailors on these defenseless ships. it’s a disgrace for humanity that in the regime’s battles, only innocent civilians have to die, not the regime members. this planet has no civilization; it’s primitive.
