Iran has arrested dozens of people on suspicion of cooperating with the Mossad spy agency since the start of the Israeli attack on the Islamic Republic on June 13.
Mossad played a key role in the opening strikes against Iran. The spy agency reportedly set up a covert drone base near the capital, Tehran, and smuggled precision weapons systems into the Islamic Republic in preparation for the large-scale operation.
In the first hours of the attack, Mossad operatives deployed drones to take out ballistic missile launchers and used guided missiles to hit air defenses in central Iran, degrading the country’s offensive capabilities and granting Israeli warplanes air supremacy.
More operations attributed to Mossad were reported in later days, including multiple assassinations, forcing Iran to take drastic security measures.
The Iranian Intelligence Ministry asked the public to report suspicious activity and issued guidance on how to spot collaborators.
A statement by the ministry urged people to be wary of strangers wearing masks or goggles, driving pickup trucks and carrying large bags or filming around military, industrial, or residential areas.
In addition, a poster published by the state-linked Nour News singled out for suspicion people who wear “masks, hats, and sunglasses, even at night” and those who receive “frequent package deliveries by courier.” The poster asked people to report “unusual sounds from inside the house, such as screaming, the sound of metal equipment, continuous banging” and “houses with curtains drawn even during the day.”
Another poster, attributed to the police and published on state media, advised landlords who had recently rented their homes to notify the police immediately.
In a video statement on June 16, Iran’s chief of police Ahmad-Reza Radan urged “traitors” to come forward, suggesting those who realized they had been “deceived by the enemy” might receive more lenient treatment and be “honored” by Iran. He also warned that those who get caught would be “taught a lesson that the Zionist enemy is being given now.”
The Basij, a paramilitary volunteer group within the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, was also mobilized. The group began to organize night patrols to increase “surveillance”.
Other measures taken by Iran include restricting the movement of trucks, limiting access to the internet and prohibiting officials from using communication devices.
Iranian media shared footage showing security forces chasing and arresting multiple suspected Mossad operatives in recent days. Some even attempted to committee suicide during the arrest.
Two of the videos that surfaced online recently provided a look at a covert drone factory that was run by Mossad operatives. Security forces seized dozens of drone parts from there. Other recent videos show trucks with concealed compartments which were apparently used to move Mossad operatives with their equipment.
Other footage posted to social networks also showed several sites where remote-controlled anti-tank guided missile launchers were set up by Mossad operatives. The launchers were blown up by the operatives before withdrawing.

More and more arrests are being reported. On June 18, Iranian security forces clashed with a group suspected of ties to Israeli intelligence in the city of Rey, south of Tehran, according to the Mehr News Agency.
The cell had reportedly been preparing attacks in crowded areas of the capital, with authorities foiling what they described as a planned “terrorist operation.”
Meanwhile, Iranian police reported the downing of 14 drones and the discovery of more drone and bomb-making sites across Tehran, as well as in the provinces of Isfahan, and Alborz. Several suspects were detained in connection with these facilities.
Additional suspects were detained in Hormozgan and Yazd for allegedly filming sensitive locations and relaying intelligence to Israeli operatives.
While Iran is finally taking serious steps to fix its security issues, Mossad will not likely cease operations in the Islamic Republic anytime soon.
The spy agency appears to have entrenched itself deep within Iranian society and institutions. Removing this threat will require persistent efforts and a lot of time.
