On Wednesday, ISIS fighters attacked positions of the US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in the Jafra oil field in the northern Deir Ezzor countryside, according to the ISIS-linked news agency Amaq.
ISIS fighters allegedly killed 8 SDF fighters and destroyed a bulldozer of the SDF with an ATGM in the oil field during the attack.
Amaq announced that ISIS fighters also attacked the positions of the SDF in Muhamidiyah village in the northern Deir Ezzor countryside. ISIS fighters killed 13 fighters, and destroyed a Humvee and a vehicle of the SDF, according to Amaq.
Meanwhile, Kurdish sources claimed that the SDF captured Muwayli village north of al-Suwar town in the northern Deir Ezzor countryside. The sources also announced that SDF fighters evacuated over 10,000 civilians from Deir Ezzor governorate during the last 24 hours.
In Raqqa Governorate, the SDF announced that its fighters killed 24 ISIS fighters during clashes around the national hospital in the center of Raqqa city. SDF fighters also evacuated 53 civilians from ISIS-held districts in the city, and captured a weapons depot of ISIS during their advance in the center of the city, according to Kurdish sources.
