On October 30 morning, a series of Israeli strikes targeted military positions in the outskirts of the Syrian capital, Damascus.
A military source told the state-run Syrian Arab News Agency that the strikes were carried out with ground-to-ground missiles.
“At around 11:17 of today’s morning, the Israeli enemy launched a salvo of ground-to-ground missiles from the direction of northern occupied Palestine, targeting some positions in the countryside of Damascus,” the source said. “Our air-defense systems engaged the aggressor’s missiles and intercepted some of them.”
According to the unnamed source, two Syrian soldiers were wounded as a result of the Israeli strikes, which also inflicted some material losses.

One of the targets of the missile strikes was reportedly the Syrian Arab Army 94th Brigade that is located near the district of al-Dimass in the northwestern outskirts of Damascus. Several air-defense systems are known to be deployed in the base.
As usual, some Israel and Arab news sources claimed that the Israeli missile strikes targeted an Iranian weapons shipment that was heading to Hezbollah in Lebanon. The sources noted that Israel rarely launches strikes on Syria at daytime.
Last week, Israeli officials claimed that they had received a green light from Russia to continue their strikes on Syria. These questionable claims were most likely meant to justify an increase in attacks on the war-torn country.
