Kyiv Plays Muscles Launching Strikes In Russia's Rear

The war in Ukraine continues with constant mutual strikes. Last night Russian and Ukrainian forces unleashed new waves of attacks in each other’s rear regions. While Russian strikes demonstrated frightening precision in dismantling Ukraine’s military infrastructure, Ukrainian drone attacks penetrated deep into Russian territory in what appears to be a desperate attempt to show strength amid mounting battlefield losses and political defeat. The contrasting results of these exchanges highlight the growing asymmetry in capabilities between the warring sides.

Russian forces conducted another comprehensive attack, targeting command centers, weapons depots and logistics nodes across eastern and southern Ukrainian regions.

Over the past day, Russian strikes were recorded in the Donbass, Sumy, Kharkiv, Zaporozhie, Kherson, Dnepropetrovsk, Chernihiv regions. According to the Ukrainian military, 59 UAVs out of 71 drones launched during the night were allegedly destroyed.

The attack followed a clear pattern of degrading Ukraine’s ability to coordinate and supply its forces amid the ongoing Russian offensive in the Donbass.

In the Donetsk People’s Republic, the small town of Svyatogorsk became the epicenter of a devastating precision strikes. At least four Geran loitering munitions slammed into buildings housing the Ukraine’s 115th Mechanized Brigade’s command post. The complete destruction of a communications hub containing Motorola DM4600e radios, Starlink terminals and a Cisco tactical router were destroyed. Nearby, a warehouse storing US-supplied Javelin anti-tank systems was smashed into smoldering rubble, with at least 15 missile tubes destroyed in the blast. By eliminating this command node, Russian forces have effectively blinded an entire Ukrainian brigade at a critical moment.

Another Ukrainian military command post was destroyed in the front town of Zoloty Kolodez. Two drones struck the headquarters of the 2nd battalion of the 4th Rapid Reaction Brigade of the National Guards.

Ukrainian positions in the Chernihiv region came under massive attack. Ukrainian hideout hidden in the local sawmill building was struck in Semenovka. Grad system was destroyed in Naumovka. Hangar with military vehicles was also struck in Naumovka.

In the city of Zaporizhzhia, a Russian heavy bomb strike on the city’s bus station left scenes of carnage, with emergency services reporting about 20 civilians wounded. While Ukrainian officials condemned the attack as indiscriminate, the station was being used to transport military personnel and equipment.

In another devastating attack, Russian drones successfully hunted down and destroyed a Ukrainian S-300V air defense battery near Vorozhba in the Sumy region. A Geran-2 drone impacted directly on the launcher, triggering secondary explosions that lit up the night sky. This marks the third such system lost by Ukraine in as many weeks, further eroding the country’s already strained air defenses.

The local grain depot was struck by Russian drones in Sobichevo in the same Sumy region. The civilian facility was turned into a warehouse and a fuel depot by the Ukrainian military.

The Ukrainian military is set to play muscles and escalate the conflict amid the upcoming Putin-Trump talks. For the first time in the conflict, Ukrainian drones penetrated as far as the Komi Republic located nearly 2,000 kilometers from the border, where residents of Ukhta reported explosions near a major oil refinery.

The attack on Russia’s industrial heartland proved more symbolic than substantive. While the long-range capability demonstrated by Ukraine’s drone program surprised many observers, the actual damage appeared minimal. Local authorities reported no casualties and only minor infrastructure damage at the targeted facility.

More consequential strikes occurred closer to the frontlines. In the Tula region, a Ukrainian drone struck a civilian industrial plant, killing two workers and injuring three others. The attack triggered outrage among Russian officials, with the Foreign Ministry spokeswoman again condemning Kyiv for the “terrorist strikes on peaceful factories.”

The night’s most damaging Ukrainian attack came in the Nizhny Novgorod region, where drones reportedly struck the Arzamas Instrument-Making Plant, a facility with both civilian and military production lines. One worker died instantly when a drone struck an administrative building, while two others suffered heavy shrapnel wounds. Emergency crews worked through the night to contain fires sparked by the explosions.

The contrasting results of these exchanges underscore the fundamental imbalance in the conflict. Russian strikes continue to achieve tangible military effects, systematically dismantling Ukraine’s combat capabilities with frightening precision.

Conversely, while Ukraine’s drone campaign demonstrates impressive range and persistence, its strategic impact remains limited. The strikes in the rear, while symbolically significant, cause minimal damage to Russia’s war effort. Even the deadlier strikes on Russian industrial facilities appear aimed more at generating headlines than achieving military objectives. The Ukrainian drone offensive is still increasingly disconnected from battlefield realities. These attacks generate media attention, but they do little to alter the fundamental dynamics of a war that Russia is winning.

russia may send diplomats , but putin would be a fool to go . this meeting is theater for the masses . to give false hope to the world .

thse drones are very easy to shot down, especially in daylight, the problem is again and after 3 years the poor coordination among the troops on ground, helicopters, air control, radar survelillance and the air defense systems

right. basically the attritional aspect of the war. damage, wear & tear, loss of air defense systems, counter-batteries, radars, electronic warfare equipment, anti aircraft weapons, loss of mi-8, mi-35 & ka-52 attack helicopters, communications equipment, command & control nodes, lost trained specialists & technicians of sophisticated weapons, poor coordination of units, or denial of large troop movements and gatherings etc..

SovietRus´

the war must continue… russia must take ukraine. it´s imperative: banderites must be eliminate. no ceasefire. more time and ukraine will be gone. ukraina delenda est!

it’s impossible for russia to take ukraine entirely. they ain’t let it happen. he lost his chance. tho he can take the rest of the administrative borders of the donbas and secure it and deprive it of its most valuable energy, rare earth/raw minerals & other natural resources. a portion of its industrial heartland, agricultural sector and fertile lands. simultaneously creating a well entrenched and well defended militarized buffer zone.

Game Over

everything vladolf has stolen should be taken and given back to the people.

SovietRus´

trump has no cards to offer russia… the west must accept it´s defeat on ukraine! or else the war will continue! advances in every front, without calling the reservists/conscripts… russia don´t need a ceasefire, russia needs a victory, complete and definitive!

Rob

do you believe this?! it’s not hat simple & i sympathize with russia but if u are tbh russia has a lot to lose & plenty to be offered. putin wants all of the demarcated areas of administrative donbas. but trump could offer sanctions relief, release of frozen assets & funds overseas & in western banks, demilitarized zone in eastern ukraine leaving what’s been captured in putins hands all for a ceasefire and freeze of the conflict.

Rob

the cost of russia fully securing the borders of donbas area will cost hundreds of thousands more casualties and billions more in damages, weapons, supplies and equipment and also further strain on its economy, which will & is starting to overheat, inflationary pressures, & showing signs of economic decline. the war is finally being felt by the average russian population & parts of society in hat was once oblivious to it or could ignore it

Game Over

no bribe money for dictator vladolf, how can vladolf survive? maybe he can steal some food in your home then, you seem interested in that solution

the narrative

this war is planned to continue and expand in natostan . the pirate war cult only seeks more plunder . the mafia intends eu nations will supply more fodder to expand and continue.

ukraine is a puppet . nato launches and controls all weapons and attacks . nothing has or will change here.

Game Over

when krimlin plunders it is okay for you. why don’t you show your loyalty to vladolf and go to the frontlines?
