A brief overview of the recent developments in Afghanistan:
- The Kabul government released 164 Hizb-e-Islami prisoners from Bagram and Pul-e-Charkhi jails on May 29;
- 14 members of the Afghan Border Force were killed in an attack by the Taliban in Dand-e-Patan district in the province of Paktia;
- The Afghan Defense Ministry claims that the Taliban coninuted its attacks depsite the Eid al-Fitr ceasefire;
- 2 field commanders surrendered to the Taliban in Farah city, the group claimed.
