This map provides a general look at the military situation in Syria on October 31, 2018.
- Sporadic firefights between the Turksih Armed Forces (TAF) and the Kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG) near the northern Syria town of Tel Abyad. The YPG destroyed at least one Turkish military truck near the town.
- Clashes between the US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), which mostly consist of YPG members, and ISIS are ongoing in the Hajin pocket area in the Euphrates Valley.
- Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (f0rmerly Jabhat al-Nusra, the Syrian branch of al-Qaeda) carried out a series of attacks on the Turkish-backed National Front for Liberation in western Aleppo. Hayat Tahrir al-Sham captured the villages of Kafr Hamra and Awayjil.
