North Korean troops who participated in the battle against Kiev forces in Russia’s Kursk marched on October 10 at Kim Il-sung Square in Pyongyang in a large parade meant to mark the 80th-anniversary of the founding of the Workers’ Party of Korea.

The battle of Kursk broke out in August of last year, when Kiev forces, backed by foreign mercenaries, infiltrated the region.

With the support of thousands of North Korean troops, the Russian military liberated Kursk in a major counterattack last March.

Commenting on the parade in Pyongyang, which was attended by Deputy Chairman of Russia’s Security Council Dmitry Medvedev, the official Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) stated in a press release: “A formidable overseas operational unit of the Korean People’s Army, which created a new glorious history and demonstrated the unyielding spirit of the Korean people, passed proudly before the podium while receiving the inspection of the great commander.”

Russia’s official RIA Novosti news agency also reported that North Korean troops who participated in the Kursk operation marched in the parade, carrying the North Korean and Russian flags.

Notably, North Korea showed off two of its latest weapons during the parade: the Hwasong-20 solid-fuel intercontinental ballistic missile, and the Hwasong-11Ma hypersonic missile.

North Korean leader Kim Jong-un and Medvedev met in Pyongyang the day before the parade and exchanged extensive views on mutual issues of interest, including international and regional affairs, according to KCNA.

“The bravery and sacrifice demonstrated by Korean soldiers in the operation to liberate Kursk Province have proven the unshakable nature of the fraternal bonds, special trust relations, and the invincible alliance forged in blood that connect the two countries,” Medvedev was quoted as saying by the news agency.

The agency also said that Kim “warmly welcomed” Medvedev and engaged in “comradely and friendly discussions” with him.

Later in a statement posted to VK, Medvedev stressed that Russia will fully honor its obligations to North Korea under the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Agreement.

“Our relations are now based on a solid legal foundation, an alliance treaty. We assume that we will continue to base our ties on this foundation, steadfastly fulfilling the obligations arising from this treaty,” Medvedev said in the statement.

North Korea participated in the battle in Kursk under the agreement, which provides for the continuous development of bilateral relations and the immediate provision of military and other assistance if either side faces an armed attack.

Medvedev also stressed that Moscow attaches “utmost importance” to Pyongyang’s position on supporting Russia’s “special military operation.”

“The heroism of the Korean soldiers who helped liberate the Kursk region will forever remain in the memory of Russians,” he added.

According to RIA Novosti, after observing the military parade, Medvedev told Russian journalists that he held friendly discussions with Kim and conveyed greetings from President Vladimir Putin. He also expressed gratitude for North Korea’s support regarding Russia’s “special military operation” in Ukraine and the liberation of Kursk.

Regarding the military parade, he particularly noted that North Korea’s achievements in military and equipment sectors were “very significant,” adding, “Therefore, North Korea’s adversaries should think three times before attempting to pressure relations with North Korea.”

Medvedev also held talks with Jo Yong-won, Secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea’s Organization and Cadres Department, and later inspected the “Defense Development-2025” arms exhibition.

North Korea acknowledged its participation in the battle of Kursk shortly after Russia declared its victory there. In August, the country’s state TV aired a short documentary with never-before-seen footage of real combat operations against Kiev forces in the region.

North Korea benefited greatly from taking part in the battle of Kursk. Not only its troops gained vast combat experience, but also military and economic cooperation with Russia has reportedly reached an unprecedented level. It is safe to say that a true alliance was born out of that battle.

jaser al shabab is more equipped than kim’s army. yasser al shabab robbed the empty idf headquarters in gaza and stole, money, food, machine guns and rockets. he now has more weapons, food and money than kim.ron paul said he secretly gave netanyah money to hamas. at al shabab, however, this is obviously a simple in the style of thieves. shabab comes a little to visit idf and a little steal if idf is not inside. however, when hamas comes, shabab thieves shoots hamas.
