Phone talks between Russian President Vladimir Putin and his American counterpart President Donald Trump lasted two hours and brought long-term results. The discussion, the details of which have been only partially disclosed, have left Kyiv without the long-waited ceasefire, as hostilities continue with the Russian army advancing on the frontlines.
Following a lengthy phone call, both leaders addressed the media, outlining their positions on potential negotiations to end the war in Ukraine. Putin described the conversation as “substantive, frank, and very useful,” thanking Trump for his mediation efforts. He once again highlighted that Russia is ready to work with Kyiv on a future peace agreement, including a possible ceasefire, but emphasized that any truce must address the root causes of the conflict.
Trump also called the talks “productive” and expressed optimism about imminent negotiations between Moscow and Kyiv.
Notably, Trump dismissed calls from Kyiv and European warmongers for a 30-day truce, signaling a shift in U.S. engagement. “This is Europe’s problem, not ours,” he said, warning that Washington could withdraw from mediation if progress stalls. He also reportedly ruled out new sanctions against Russia, arguing they could disrupt peace efforts.
Kyiv feels abandoned again. Zelensky, who had a brief call with Trump before his conversation with Putin, reportedly urged stronger pressure on Moscow, including sanctions if Russia rejects a temporary truce. However, Trump’s remarks suggest the U.S. is prioritizing diplomacy over confrontation, leaving Ukraine increasingly reliant on European support.
While both Putin and Trump hinted at possible compromises, the lack of concrete agreements means hostilities will likely continue, with Russia maintaining its military pressure on the frontlines.
Russian troops have significantly accelerated their offensive operations along the entire frontline in May, with advances growing steadily each week. Improved tactics, scattered Ukrainian defense and greenery on the trees, which covers the maneuvers of the attacking Russian groups, have contributed to a sharp increase in Russian territorial gains. According to some estimates, from 9.6 km per day in early May to 31.5 km per day by May 17.
This week symbolically marks six years since Zelensky took office as Ukraine’s president, delivering an inaugural speech in which he vowed to do “everything possible” to end the war in Donbass. From the outset, it was clear that Zelensky had no intention of deviating from the imposed belligerent policies, choosing instead to continue the war against the people of the Donbass. Today his earlier claims of pursuing peace stand in stark contrast to the reality of the war that shows no signs of ending.

do you remember when you could still believe the ukrainian propaganda (with a heavy dose of suspension of disbelief) ? not it screams of desperation and has turned into a dark, sick joke and a mockery of human dignity.
my memory can’t go back that far.
in amerika many warm ghay bars—we #1 lgbt freedumb
elensky cannot decide if he enjoys sniffing his own farts more, or his eu lodge masters. clearly the european press enjoys basking in the fart odours of their lodge masters: perhaps they wear the odours in plastic bags over their heads so as not to miss any of the stench they delight in..
as long as they hold the power despite people voting differently seeing a different direction is difficult to achieve. no one here wants war. but the eu is pushng it recr ting people sca ling up the mil itary. they are prep aring for a confrontation. i hope that we can stop it one way or another. the fact that tru mp won the elections means we dont have to get a dir ect co nflict between europe and the east. but these rats who are sabotaging the peace talks need to be ousted.
the conflict is inherited from the biden admin and its usaid minions those minions are still largely in power in europe and even in ukraine zelenskh was installed by the biden adminestration. if we want to end the conflict we need to find a way to make these usaid trolls loose their power. in germany afd is the biggest winner in the elections. in france le pen is banned from running for the presedency in romania the winner was prosecuted. we dont live in a democratic system anymore.
a way has to be found to get rid of these usaid funded democratic usa party trolls so more pressure can be extracted to make peace. it has to be ended before it escalates further and they put us in a direct confrontation. i wish that ukranians would take to the streets and demand a settlement. more people have to take action and protest and demand peace
3 days, remember? ruzzian loooooosers hahaha
the 3 days rubbish was an invention of western spook agencies laundered through their presstitute media. ukraine is a huge country and the russian force that went into ukraine numbered 100,000. the idea that a force that size could occupy anything in 3 days is ludicrous. the whole purpose of the operation was to put political pressure on the kiev regime to make certain concessions, principally that ukraine was not going to be in nato.
the aim was not to occupy ukraine or anything else, just to extort these concessions. then the war would end and the troops would be withdrawn. not in 3 days but in a short space of time. under the circumstances this was a great deal for the ukies and they were happy to go along with it at talks in turkey. but bojo the clown johnson threw a spanner in the works and told the ukies to reject it. so instead we have a 3 year war of attrition.
another terrible day in lgbt amerikunt degeneracy project
imho zelensky and nato knows the war is lost; but neither care about the war being avoidable, nor about the devastation inflicted on the ukraine by their obsession with getting russia; their aim is to demonise russia by creating a lasting portrayal of the defeated ukraine as the hapless victim of an evil empire. such preparation for revenge is good reason for enforcing neutrality and disarmament.
