The Russian Aerospace Forces continue to rearm its air defense units with Pantsir-SMD, S-350 Vityaz and S-400 Triumf systems to boost their defense capabilities, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the aerospace forces Lt. Gen. Alexander Maksimtsev said in an interview with the Krasnaya Zvezda newspaper that was published on August 1.
“In order to boost defense capabilities protecting administrative and political centers, important sites and regions of the country, as well as battlegroups and logistic support facilities from the enemy’s massive air strikes, the troops are being actively supplied with new Pantsir-SMD self-propelled, medium-range surface-to-air missile and anti-aircraft artillery systems. Rearmament with advanced S-350 Vityaz and S-400 Triumf systems continues,” Maksimtsev said.
The Pantsir-SMD is the latest version of the short-range air defense system. It has an improved radar and can be armed with up to 48 very-short-range interceptors for point defense against smaller aerial targets, like drones.
The S-350 is a medium to long-range air defense system with the ability to engage aerial targets from a distance up to 120 kilometers. Meanwhile, the S-400 is a more dedicated long-range air defense system. It can engage aerial targets with a maximum range of 400 kilometers. It also has extensive anti-ballistic missile capabilities.
In the same interview Maksimtsev went on to say that Russian Radio-Technical Troops are receiving advanced Nebo-M, Kasta-VM and Podlet-M radar systems. All three radar systems are generally used for surveillance in the medium and long-range.
Maksimtsev’s remarks highlight the major contrast between Russia and Ukraine, which is currently struggling to keep its air defense network alive despite receiving major support from NATO and other backers.
The entire West seems incapable of keeping up with the air defense demands of Ukraine, while Russia is not only enhancing its air defenses by the day, but even continues to export such systems.

i hope that dump will test in moscow, not just in tehran.
those bunker blusters the “us” use seems strange. instead of drill many hours at a road construction site, they could simple drop the drill in a straight line from a airplane, or a helicopter 😂 it seems that they which believe that everything is a illusion, are not far off…
