Another Ukrainian attack against Russian territory was foiled over the night of July 30 and 31, according to the Russian Ministry of Defense.

At least 11 suicide drones were shot down over the region of Belgorod, four over the region of Bryansk, one over the Kursk region, one over the region of Kaluga, one over the Rostov region and another over the Crimea Peninsula, the ministry said in a statement, adding that a Ukrainian R-360 Neptune cruise missile was also shot down over Kursk.

The ministry and Russian media didn’t report casualties or material losses in any of the targeted region as a result of the failed Ukrainian attack.

The response to the attack came quickly as Ukrainian media reported a large-scale Russian drone strike on the capital, Kiev, and a number of other regions, including Kherson and Cherkasy, in the early morning.

The Ukrainian Air Force claimed that its air defenses shot down all 89 Geran-type suicide drones which were launched by the Russian military during the strike, in addition to a single Kh-59 cruise missile. Nevertheless, losses and blasts were reported in Kherson and other regions.

The Kiev regime intensified attacks on Russia with the start of the year, damaging infrastructure and killing and wounding a number of civilians.

The main aim of these repeated attacks appears to be to make up for the never ending failures of Kiev forces, especially in the direction of Donetsk.

In response, the Russian military resumed group strikes on military infrastructure and related energy facilities in Ukraine last March. The strikes inflicted heavy losses on the country.
