Russian Army Cements Presence In Dnepropetrovsk, Captures Seventh Town (Videos)

The Russian military cemented its presence in Dnepropetrovsk, capturing a seventh settlement in the direction of Kiev forces.

In a statement on September 22, the Russian Ministry of Defense confirmed that Kalinovskoye was captured by the Vostok [East] Group of Forces.

The attack on Kalinovskoye began just four days earlier, with the 5th Guards Tank Brigade leading the final charge. Kiev forces withdrew after taking heavy losses. In total, five square kilometers and more than a hundred buildings, in the settlement and its vicinity, were secured.

Footage of the attack revealed that the Russian Aerospace Forces played a key role, hammering Ukrainian fortifications in Kalinovskoey and its vicinity with guided glide bombs. Drone operators of the Vostok Group of Forces also made movement for Kiev forces impossible, targeting everything from troops to vehicles and trenches.

Ukrainian losses in the settlement alone amounted to a company of personnel and seven units of weapons and armored vehicles.

The Russian MoD said that the Vostok Group of Forces inflicted even more losses on Kiev forces during battles in Dnepropetrovsk and the direction of Zaporozhye over the past 24 hours.

According to the ministry, Ukraine “lost up to 295 troops, three armored fighting vehicles, 14 motor vehicles, three field artillery guns, and two electronic warfare stations.”

With Kalinovskoey secured, the Russian troops can now advance to further expand its control within Dnepropetrovsk in three possible ways: towards Stepove to the north, Verbove to the west, or Novohryhorivvka further to the south. Kiev forces in these three settlements are already under fire.

A push towards Stepove seems the most likely for now, as it would help solidify the front in this area, and possibly link with Russian troops in Sosnivka, a few kilometers to the north.

Meanwhile in Zaporozhye, more gains were reported by the Vostok Group of Forces to the south and north east of Novoivanovka. The ultimate goal seems to be Uspenovka. Once troops reach the settlement, the situation will become catastrophic for Kiev forces in Poltavka, which is located to the southeast.

Advance also continues further to the west, in Prymorske, where the Russian Airborne Troops are very active, as well as in Stepnohirsk, that’s despite intensive use of drones by Kiev forces.

Of course, the drone operators of the Vostok Group of Forces and other formations operating in this direction have also been very active in this part of the Zaporozhye. Recent drone strikes didn’t only target Ukrainian troops, vehicles and trenches along the front, but also supply lines in the rear, including near Magdalynivka.

Although Kiev forces are showing decent resistance in Zaporozhye, they seem to be completely incapable of conducting any counterattack. The situation is evidently worse in Dnepropetrovsk, where Ukraine seems satisfied with just attempting to slow down the advance of the Russian military.

While Kiev apparently thinks that this would help its preserve more of its resources, especially manpower, and by that prolong the fighting, a collapse is deemed to happen in the end, either in Dnepropetrovsk or Zaporozhye.
