In the Zaporizhzhia-Dnepropetrovsk area, Ukrainian forces are attempting to expand their presence around Sosnivka and Orestopil. They are amassing troops for an advance toward Stepove and Berezove. Meanwhile, Russian assault groups from the 218th Tank Regiment have finished clearing Tsvitkove. They are battling for Krynychne and advancing toward the critical transportation hub of Verkhnia Tersa. In the Kostiantynivka area, the situation remains complex due to conflicting reports on territorial control. However, Russian units are gradually approaching the southwestern outskirts of the city from Yablonivka. In the Slaviansk area, Ukrainian troops have advanced in the Kryva Luka region, along the Pryvollya–Nykyforivka line, and in Holubivka. Fighting continues in Reznykivka. In the Kharkiv area, Russian troops are advancing through forested areas near Staritsa, Vovchanski Khutory, and Symynivka. They are striking identified targets with aviation and heavy flamethrower systems. Slovakian Prime Minister Robert Fico emphasized the importance of dialogue between the West and Russia to end the conflict in Ukraine.

Zaporizhzhia Direction
In the Zaporizhzhia region, the level of combat tension remains high. Fighting continues along the entire contact line. While Ukrainian units attempt to break through to the rear of Russian units on the northern flank, Russian troops exert consistent pressure towards Verkhnia Tersa on the southern flank.

Ukrainian troops are not abandoning their attempts to expand their presence in the Sosnivka and Orestopil areas, seeking to infiltrate the Russian troops’ battle formations. The situation in this sector remains dynamic. The Ukrainian side is gradually accumulating personnel for a potential advance towards Stepove and Berezove. Therefore, it is premature to speak of the exhaustion of the offensive potential of Ukrainian units in this area.

However, these actions do not slow the pace of the “East” troop grouping’s advance in the vicinity of Huliaipole. According to available information, the 218th Tank Regiment’s assault groups have pushed Ukrainian units out of Tsvitkove and are currently clearing strongpoints near the railway tracks next to the settlement. Russian troops have also taken control of the approaches to neighboring Krynichne. Clashes are ongoing in the village itself; however, considering the current configuration of the front and the small size of the settlement, Ukrainian units may be pushed back into the tree lines west of Krynychne in the near future.

Capturing Tsvitkove and advancing toward Krynychne is necessary for the “East” troop grouping to reach a favorable position from which to launch an offensive on Verkhnia Tersa. This settlement is an important transportation hub. Its transition to Russian control will facilitate further advancement westward to the new defensive line of Ukrainian units along the eponymous river.

Kostiantynivka Direction
The Kostiantynivka sector remains one of the most complex areas of the front. The situation is further complicated by false or contradictory reports on the operational situation from previous months. The situation in Chasiv Yar is a clear example of this problem.

Recently, the situation on the western outskirts of Chasiv Yar was clarified, despite the contradictory information that had been coming from there for a long time. It has been confirmed that Ukrainian units are present in the western part of the Shevchenko microdistrict and have attempted to advance towards the city center. Due to the current nature of combat operations within the city limits, a large area of active clashes with pockets of resistance remains in Chasiv Yar. Meanwhile, Russian troops control the second workshop of the refractory plant and most of the Yuzhnyi microdistrict.

The situation on this flank remains tense. New data confirms that control over the village of Krasne and settlements to the north was established without reliable consolidation, as previously officially declared. A similar situation hinders systematic advancement within Kostiantynivka itself.

Currently, Ukrainian units are attempting to regain control of the railway station. Assault groups from the “South” troop grouping are infiltrating from there towards the metallurgical plant and the ruins of the “Vtormet” base. Meanwhile, the Ukrainian forces in the city are facing serious issues due to strikes on their communication lines and supply routes.

However, positive dynamics are also observed: Russian troops are gradually approaching the southwestern outskirts of Kostiantynivka from Yablonivka. In the near future, it is possible that Ukrainian units defending the city will have to disperse their forces to counter the offensive on several sectors simultaneously.

Slaviansk Direction
In this regard, progress has been made in expanding the control zone in the Kryva Luka area. Clearing the chalk slopes continues. Russian units are advancing towards the Kalenyky settlement, as well as Rai-Oleksandrivka, where Ukrainian forces have established a significant defensive line. In Reznykivka, combat operations are ongoing with no significant changes.

Russian units have captured new positions on the Pryvollya–Nykyforivka line. Fighting continues in the central part of Nykyforivka. There has been additional advancement from the southeastern side of the settlement. The assault groups’ offensive is supported by artillery fire. Efforts are underway to identify and destroy Ukrainian units’ drone control points.

Ukrainian units are being pushed out of the approaches to Fedorivka Druha. There has also been a significant improvement in the tactical position and advancement of Russian troops in Holubivka.

Kharkiv Direction
In the tree plantations near Vovchanski Khutory, Russian units are identifying the positions of Ukrainian troops. Crews of TOS-1A “Solntsepyok” heavy flamethrower systems are striking those positions. East of the settlement and near the state border, Russian units control and engage in fire on the roads and positions of Ukrainian troops.

In the Okhrimivka area, FPV drone operators destroyed a Ukrainian unit’s light transport buggy. Northeast of Okhrimivka, in the Rybalkyne settlement, Ukrainian troop positions were identified and destroyed during reconnaissance activities. South of Volokhivka, Ukrainian drone launch points were struck by Russian aviation.

Russian units are engaged in fierce fighting in forested areas west of Staritsa. Ukrainian units are also being cut off in the southern part of Hrafskoho. In the forests near Symynivka, Russian assault groups are having tactical successes and fighting to improve their positions in the built-up area and on the terrain. The clearing of forested areas in the Chuhunivka area continues.

Sumy Direction
The advancement of Russian units has been recorded in three districts of the Sumy region: Sumy, Krasnopillia, and Hlukhiv. Over the past day, Russian units advanced more than 900 meters along 17 sectors of the combat line. Ukrainian forces launched one counterattack with assault groups from the 21st Separate Mechanized Brigade. As a result of intense fire, the attack was repelled. During the clash, two of the aforementioned brigade’s servicemen were captured.

The Ukrainian command has temporarily increased the number of troops at forward positions by reducing the training time for personnel. However, the level of motivation and the psychological state of the mobilized troops raises serious questions, prompting an increase in the activity of military law enforcement units.

Conclusion
Analysis of the operational situation indicates that high-intensity combat operations persist in all examined areas. In the Zaporizhzhia area, a counter-dynamic is evident: Ukrainian units are attempting to advance on the northern flank, while Russian troops are successfully advancing on the southern flank. They have achieved tactical successes in the areas of Tsvitkove and Krynychne, creating conditions that could lead to the capture of the important transport hub of Verkhnia Tersa. In the Kostiantynivka area, the situation is complicated by “grey zones” and inaccurate assessments of territorial control. However, Russian troops are systematically advancing towards the city from the southwest, potentially forcing the Ukrainian forces to redeploy reserves. In the Slaviansk area, Russian troops are expanding their control zones in several sectors and approaching the Ukrainian units’ key defensive lines near Rai-Oleksandrivka. In the Kharkiv area, Russian troops are advancing steadily through forested areas and settlements, striking identified targets and strengthening their tactical position.

In the international political context, Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico made a statement following negotiations with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio in Bratislava. Fico emphasized the necessity of dialogue with Russia to settle the conflict in Ukraine. He believes that without direct contact with the Russian leadership, Western countries cannot demonstrate their genuine interest in ending hostilities. He noted that negotiations create opportunities to obtain valuable information and are a prerequisite for the peace process. The Slovakian prime minister also recalled that, at the end of January, he had welcomed the European Union’s emerging plans to resume dialogue with Moscow.

This statement reflects the growing sentiment within the European Union to intensify diplomatic efforts. Earlier, Politico reported that several European countries, including France and Italy, are advocating for the creation of a special negotiator position to represent the European Union’s interests in potential peace talks on Ukraine. Thus, the Slovak prime minister’s rhetoric reflects a broader trend among some European leaders who recognize the need to find compromises and return to negotiations despite disagreements within the community on this issue. This suggests a potential shift in how the conflict is approached, with diplomatic tools being viewed as a preferable alternative to continued hostilities.
