In a significant development on the Northern Donets front, Russian military units have achieved an operational breakthrough, seizing control over the majority of the Serebryansky forestry area. This advance has placed Ukrainian military units on the northern bank of the Seversky Donets River at immediate risk of encirclement, fundamentally altering the tactical picture in the region.
The Serebryansky forestry has been engulfed in fighting since 2022. The situation, which has been developing in favor of Russian troops for several weeks, has now reached a tipping point. Ukrainian resources themselves acknowledge that the operational environment for their forces in the forest has become critical, marking a stark reversal from earlier defensive positions.
The Russian offensive within the dense forest arrays began in late July. Initial gains saw Russian forces capture a local tourist base and advance along a strategic line of ponds. LINK This maneuver effectively trapped Ukrainian units in a fire pocket in the central part of the forest, severing their regular supply lines and leaving them isolated.
The sustained pressure has now yielded decisive results. Unable to withstand the assault, AFU units were forced to flee their entrenched positions. Their attempts to establish new defensive lines failed, triggering a collapse of the Ukrainian defense throughout the entire forestry area.
The commander of the Chechen Akhmat special forces, Apti Alaudinov, announced:
“At the moment, we can state that the Serebryansk forestry is almost completely mopped up. The fighters of the Russian Defense Ministry units are putting the finishing touches, cleaning some areas, but mostly they have already completely knocked out the enemy from the Serebryansky forestry and are moving on,” Alaudinov says.
Intense combat operations continue as Russian forces conduct mop-up operations. Ukrainian subunits, operating in small, disparate groups, have proven incapable of holding their ground. Reports confirm substantial AFU personnel losses, including mass surrenders, underscoring the scale of the defeat.
Ukrainian forces managed to achieve a precarious stabilization only by falling back to the line of ponds adjacent to the channel of the Seversky Donets River. However, this offers little respite, as the opposite bank is also firmly under Russian control, keeping the retreating units in a vulnerable position.
The momentum has spilled over into the adjacent settlement of Serebryanka. According to field reports, over the last 24 hours, Russian units have advanced up to 300 meters in the western and southwestern parts of the village. The so-called “gray zone” has been expanded by another 500 meters. As a result, the Ukrainian 53rd Mechanized Brigade, tasked with defending this sector, has lost control over most of the settlement. Eastern and central areas are under full Russian control.
The focus now shifts to the settlement of Dronivka. Having lost Serebryanka, the remnants of the Ukrainian 53rd Brigade are being forced to withdraw towards fortified positions east of this new key point. Ensuring a continued Russian advance towards this line is now of critical importance.
Control over the heights west of Serebryanka and a direct approach to Dronivka would threaten the northern outskirts of the strategically significant city of Severesk. Such a development would effectively deprive the Ukrainian military of any possibility of holding this entire defensive sector. It is highly probable that the AFU will soon be forced to retreat from this area as well, falling back onto poorly prepared defensive positions in open fields and completely ceding the forest cover that once served as their stronghold.
This multi-domain pressure continues to degrade Ukrainian defensive capabilities, suggesting that the advancement of Russian forces on this axis is set to continue.

with all due respect your comment is too simplistic. a little thought to expand it is required. one side (the west, controlled by zionists) orders the invasion and seizure of countries/resources/assets, while the other side(s) defends against it. we have sick and evil people controlling, and sheep blindly following orders. most people are inherently good and peaceful, but humanity lacks intelligence and/or strength to stand up against this evil.
