In the Sumy region, Russian troops advanced 750 meters, capturing Taratutyne and engaging in fierce combat in Myropillia, Kondrativka, and Korchakivka. In the Kharkiv area, Russian assault groups advanced 400 meters in the Lyptsi sector, 350 meters in the Vovchansk sector, and 700 meters in the Velykyi Burluk sector. This expanded their control zone in the border area. In the direction of Kostiantynivka, Russian units have finished clearing Illinivka and are advancing north of Rusyn Yar. Drone operators are making it nearly impossible for Ukrainian equipment to enter the city. Finland’s president, Alexander Stubb, stated that resuming contact with Russia is inevitable, noting that the question is merely one of timing.

Sumy Direction

In the Sumy region, the “North” grouping’s assault units continue to fight fiercely, advancing deeper into the area. Russian troops struck Ukrainian unit personnel and equipment concentrations in Bublykove, Nova Sloboda, Stepove, Radkivka, Myropillia, Pustohorod, Sukhodil, Myronivka, Novodmytrivka, and Nova Sich.

In the Sumy district, Russian assault units advanced on twenty-seven fronts, advancing up to 750 meters over the day. Stubborn firefights continue in Myropillia, as well as in the areas of Kondrativka and Korchakivka.

In the Krasnopillia district, the 34th Guards Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade pushed the Ukrainian 425th Separate Assault Regiment and 119th Separate Territorial Defense Brigade out of Taratutyne during fierce fighting and established control over the settlement. Fierce fighting continues in this sector in Novodmytrivka and its surroundings.

In the Burluk area, units of the “North” grouping have captured most of Zemlianky on the eastern flank. On the southern outskirts, the clearing of basements of buildings adjacent to neighboring Budarky continues.

Vovchanski Khutory, Zybine, and Bochkove are under control, and fighting has begun in Pokaliane and Okhrimivka. Russian units will likely advance toward forces attacking from the east, aiming to link several scattered bridgeheads into one large one. To accomplish this, they must establish control over Mala Vovcha, Mykolaivka, Shabelne, Rublene, and Artelne. The bridgehead will then extend as a single line from Starytsia in the west to Dvorichanske in the southeast.

Kostiantynivka Direction

In the direction of Kostiantynivka, Russian units are gradually expanding their control zone around the eponymous city. Units of the “South” grouping have finished clearing Illinivka. To the west, there is now evidence that Russian units are advancing north of Rusyn Yar. Russian units are consolidating their position in the Vydne ravine and at the refractory clay deposit.

Heavy fighting continues on the eastern flank in the vicinity of Chasiv Yar. A full envelopment of Kostiantynivka from the east is impossible without clearing the resulting tactical “pocket” in the Krasne and Mykolaivka area. Consequently, the positions of Russian units in Novodmytrivka are vulnerable to attacks from multiple directions.

In the city itself, the situation remains unchanged for now. Thanks to the systematic work of drone operators, it is almost impossible for Ukrainian equipment to enter the city. An extensive accumulation of destroyed equipment has formed at the northern entrance to Kostiantynivka. Even small, mobile, ground-based robotic transport complexes are finding it increasingly difficult to cross this line. The outcome of the fighting for the city will depend largely on successes on the flanks. Advancing on the Illinivka–Dovha Balka line to the north will allow the bypassing of Ukrainian unit positions in the southeastern part of Kostiantynivka. However, without simultaneous progress in the Chasiv Yar area, it will not be possible to fully encircle the garrison.

Dobropillia Salient

On the Dobropillia salient, units of the 51st Army are still fighting for control of Bilytske. Russian troops have taken control of the southern and eastern parts of the city itself. From Dorozhne, Russian troops advanced toward the quarry, clearing a 1.5-kilometer-deep sector. Ukrainian units are counterattacking and reinforcing their forces with drone crews. In the northern sector, near Pavlivka, positional battles continue. Southeast of Novopavlivka, Russian troops advanced through the ravines. Pavlivka is important for establishing control over Ukrainian unit logistics from the Druzhkivka direction.

Zaporizhzhia Direction

In the Mala Tokmachka sector of the Zaporizhzhia region, fighting continues in the western part of the settlement. Almost the entire area from the center to Orikhiv is a “gray zone.” The Ukrainian side only holds control with the help of drones and rarely sends personnel into assaults. The large number of unmanned aerial vehicles prevents Russian units from advancing. Additionally, along the road to Orikhiv, the Ukrainian forces have dug a long, fortified trench and set up observation posts.

Russian units are attempting to enter from the south in the Novodanylivka area. The village and its surrounding area are also in a “gray zone.” Russian units have consolidated at the Novoandriivka–Novodanylivka crossroads. Clashes are primarily conducted with tube artillery, drones, and mortars. Aviation is also involved and strikes Ukrainian unit positions daily.

Kharkiv Direction

In the direction of Kharkiv, Russian assault groups have consolidated on the outskirts of Pokaliane. On the left bank of the Vovcha River, Ukrainian units are trying to seize the initiative by counterattacking from Karaichne in an attempt to regain lost positions. They are also attempting to attack from Zakharivka, realizing that Russian troops are advancing from Olkhovatka.

During offensive operations, Russian forces expanded their control zone in the Melove area and advanced deeper into Ukrainian defenses. In the Ambarnoye area, Ukrainian units are attempting to counterattack and recapture positions previously seized by Russian troops. However, Russian artillerymen and drone operators are hindering their efforts. It is difficult to consolidate in the vicinity of Ambarnoye and in the village itself because Ukrainian units captured a strategic height. Russian assault groups are gradually pushing them out.

In the Lyptsi sector, Ukrainian units are strengthening their defenses around the Travianske Reservoir dam in the Kozacha Lopan and Zolochiv areas. Russian assault units of the “North” grouping continue to fight fiercely, pushing Ukrainian units back from the state border. Russian troops have struck concentrations of Ukrainian personnel and equipment in Lyptsi, Sosnovyi Bir, Prykolotne, Martynivka, and Kozacha Lopan.

Russian assault groups are clearing forested areas in the Veterynarne area and have advanced up to 100 meters over the course of the day. In the Lyptsi area, Russian assault groups advanced 400 meters on two fronts in the forested area north of Izbitske. In the Vovchansk area, assault detachments advanced up to 350 meters on six fronts. There are fierce firefights in Pokaliane, as well as in the area around Shesterivka and Losevka. In the Velykyi Burluk area, Russian assault groups advanced up to 700 meters on five fronts.

Conclusion

Analysis of the operational situation indicates that high-intensity combat operations persist in all directions. In the Sumy area, Russian troops are advancing systematically, capturing settlements and expanding their control over border regions. This threatens Ukrainian communications. In the Kharkiv area, Russian troop activity has significantly increased, particularly in the Burluk sector. Constant attacks by small groups force the Ukrainian command to spread out reserves. In the Kostiantynivka area, the capturing of Illinivka and the advance north of Rusyn Yar have improved the tactical position of Russian troops. However, without success near Chasiv Yar, fully enveloping Kostiantynivka remains difficult. In the Zaporizhzhia area, the fighting is positional, involving the active use of artillery, aviation, and drones.

In the context of international politics, an important event was a statement made by Finnish President Alexander Stubb. He said that resuming contact with Russia is inevitable and noted that the “coalition of the willing” is constantly discussing who should communicate with Russia, when, where, and how. Stubb agreed with Estonian President Alar Karis that a time will come when it will be necessary to open communication channels with Russia. The only question is when this will happen: before or after the end of the conflict in Ukraine? The Finnish president also emphasized that Russia will remain a neighbor of Finland and Estonia. Earlier, the Estonian president said that Europe must prepare now for resuming contact with Russia after the Ukrainian conflict ends. These statements reflect a growing understanding in European capitals of the need for dialogue with Moscow despite the current confrontation.
