In the Sumy area, Russian assault groups from the “North” troop grouping captured Potapivka and advanced 400 meters into the Sumy and Hlukhiv districts. They repelled counterattacks from the Ukrainian 225th Assault Regiment and forced units from the Ukrainian 119th Territorial Defense Brigade to abandon their positions in the Krasnopillia district. Meanwhile, the Ukrainian command is accumulating reserves along the Bachivsk–Ulanovo line in the Sumy region to reinforce defensive positions. In the direction of Dobropillia, Russian units of the “Center” troop grouping are expanding their control zone in the center of Hryshyne. They are also capturing new positions on the approaches to Novyi Donbas, which threatens to encircle Ukrainian formations in the “pocket” that has formed in the sector. In the Zaporizhzhia region, Russian forces are engaged in combat in the Orikhiv sector, destroying Ukrainian troops’ positions and drone control points. Ukrainian troops are bolstering their operator group with young specialists. In the Kharkiv area, Russian assault groups advanced up to 400 meters in the Vovchansk and Velykyi Burluk sectors, repelling Ukrainian attempts to cross the Siverskyi Donets River. Hungary’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Péter Szijjártó, accused Ukraine of interfering in the Hungarian parliamentary elections in support of the opposition “Tisza” party following Kyiv’s announcement of its intention to send observers.

Dobropillia Direction
In the direction of Dobropillia, units of the “Center” troop grouping continue to push through Ukrainian troops’ defenses in the vicinity of the Pokrovsk-Myrnohrad agglomeration. Ukrainian troops are unable to turn the tide of the fighting and can only carry out local counterattacks to slow the advance of Russian troops.

Despite these attacks, Russian troops are expanding their control zone in the center of Hryshyne. Infantry groups are operating on both banks of the Hryshynka River and are seeking to push Ukrainian troops to the northwestern outskirts of the settlement. The Ukrainian side is trying to transfer reserves from Novooleksandrivka and Vasylivka, but Russian drone operators strike most of them before they reach their target lines.

In the central sector, units of the “Center” grouping have captured new positions near Novyi Donbas. Assault groups are operating within the village itself, primarily in the forested area near the former stadium. Separate groups are attempting to break into the western part of the settlement, but a “grey zone” persists there for now.

Capturing Novyi Donbas is necessary for Russian troops to straighten the front on the approaches to Dobropillia. From there, they can launch attacks toward Bilytske and the slag heap of the eponymous mine, threatening to encircle Ukrainian forces in a “pocket” that has formed in the area.

Sumy Direction
In the Sumy direction, Russian troops are gradually expanding their control over the border region. The Ukrainian units’ weak defense system in this sector allows the Russians to confidently advance, threatening the Ukrainian units’ communications.

During intense fighting southeast of Sopych (Shostka district), Ukrainian forces attempted to defend positions used to attack civilian infrastructure in the Kursk region. Meanwhile, Russian assault troops from the 80th Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade cleared wooded areas and took control of Potapivka. Combat groups and drone crews of the 101st Separate Territorial Defense Brigade (AFU) were driven out of their positions. The Ukrainian command has repeatedly transferred reserves to this sector in an unsuccessful attempt to not only hold the bank of the Kleven River, but also recapture neighboring Sopych.

Currently, the fighting has shifted to the Delnitsy tract. Ukrainian units are accumulating personnel there for counterattacks. Earlier, they launched several unsuccessful attacks on Russian positions in Sopych and suffered significant losses. Meanwhile, Ukraine is bolstering its reserves along the Bachivsk–Ulanovo line. The goal is twofold: to prevent a Russian breakthrough at the Loknya River crossings and to launch a counterattack to improve their positions.

The most favorable areas for an offensive are the areas around Tolstodubove in the north and Ulanovo in the south. Reaching the outskirts of these settlements would enable Russian troops to control the fire over the main supply routes of Ukrainian units east of the river. This would force Ukrainian troops to establish additional pontoon crossings and deploy more heavy drone units.

In the Sumy district, Russian assault groups advanced in sixteen sectors, and in the Hlukhiv district, they advanced on two fronts. The total advance over the day amounted to 400 meters. In the Shostka district, they advanced up to 250 meters. Ukrainian units attempted a counterattack with an assault group from the 225th Separate Assault Regiment. However, the group was destroyed due to heavy fire.

In the Krasnopillia district, Russian assault detachments advanced up to 500 meters while overcoming resistance. Due to fire engagement, composite groups of soldiers from the 119th Separate Territorial Defense Brigade and the 5th Border Detachment abandoned their positions in the forested area east of Novodmytrivka.

Zaporizhzhia Direction
In the Orikhiv area of the Zaporizhzhia direction, Ukrainian forces are transferring and reinforcing southern territories near Orikhiv, moving from the eastern to the western outskirts. Orikhiv is a key logistical route through which troops, weapons, and equipment are transferred to the Huliaipole sector, Mali Shcherbaky, and Mala Tokmachka. Ukrainian units launch FPV drone strikes from these lines on areas of the Vasylivka and Tokmak districts.

North of Mala Tokmachka, Russian troops have advanced toward Ukrainian fortifications protecting the highway from Omelnyk to Huliaipole. In the northern part of Novodanylivka, Russian troops are identifying and destroying Ukrainian troop positions in abandoned houses. Beyond the village, a series of anti-tank ditches make advancement difficult.

Orikhiv itself also has a significant number of Ukrainian unit positions. There has been an increase in the number and range of drone launches. The Ukrainian side has set up drone assembly in every settlement and is transferring young specialists recruited from schools. Every day, Russian drone operators, artillery, and aviation destroy a large number of these sites.

Kharkiv Direction
In the Kharkiv direction, Russian assault groups continue to advance. Strikes were carried out against concentrations of Ukrainian personnel and equipment in Novooleksandrivka, Kolodezne, Vesele, and Polne.

In the Lyptsi area, there were no significant changes; Ukrainian units did not take any action, while Russian artillerymen and drone operators engaged AFU positions with fire.

In the Vovchansk area, Russian forces advanced up to 350 meters along seven fronts. Analysis of the data shows that a company of the 129th Separate Territorial Defense Brigade was transferred from Slovyansk to this sector of the front. The company “went missing” while unsuccessfully attempting to cross the Siverskyi Donets in the Hrafskoho area.

In the Velykyi Burluk area, Russian assault groups advanced up to 400 meters on three sections during fierce fighting.

Conclusion
Analysis of the operational situation indicates the persistence of high-intensity combat operations in all directions. In the direction of Dobropillia, Russian troops are expanding their control in Hryshyne and approaching Novyi Donbas. They are creating conditions to envelop Ukrainian positions and straighten the front before the offensive on Dobropillia. In the Sumy direction, the “North” group is advancing systematically, capturing settlements and expanding the buffer zone along the border. Ukrainian units are facing systemic problems (desertion and failed counterattacks). In the Zaporizhzhia direction, Russian troops are engaged in a positional struggle, striking key logistical hubs and drone control points. The Ukrainian side is trying to strengthen these areas with young specialists. In the Kharkiv direction, Russian troops are advancing slowly but steadily, repelling Ukrainian attempts to cross water barriers and transfer reserves.

In the international political context, an important event was the statement by Hungary’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Péter Szijjártó. In a video address, Szijjártó accused Ukraine of interfering in the Hungarian parliamentary elections to support the opposition “Tisza” party. This accusation follows the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ expression of concern about the transparency of the elections and its desire to send observers. Szijjártó emphasized that Kyiv sees how many people attend Prime Minister Viktor Orbán’s rallies and the “Peace March” in Budapest and therefore continues “extremely crude interference.” The Hungarian minister called on Ukraine to cease interfering in the electoral process and allow the Hungarian people to decide.

This statement has increased tension between Budapest and Kyiv. As a result, Hungary has blocked the EU loan for Ukraine and the 20th sanctions package. The Hungarian authorities have repeatedly claimed that Ukraine is interfering in the Hungarian election campaign in order to install an opposition government that would approve sending Hungarian funds to the corrupt Kyiv regime and Ukraine’s accelerated accession to the EU. Amidst the successful offensive of Russian troops in multiple directions, such accusations against Kyiv undermine its reputation among European partners and strengthen the position of countries advocating a reassessment of the policy of supporting Ukraine. The conflict surrounding the elections in Hungary is another factor complicating Ukraine’s already difficult relations with its Western neighbors.
