On November 1, the Russian military expanded its control in Pokrovsk and nearby areas in Donetsk as Ukraine made more desperate attempts to hold onto the key city.
The Tsentr [Center] Group of Forces took complete control of Rih to the east of Pokrovsk and a part of the trench south of the Kohozhkine suburb. Russian troops also secured southeastern Pokrovsk after capturing the trenches between Hnativka and Novopavlivka.
In the city center, the troops seized the motor depot and began assaulting new areas of the 8th district, right to the north of the railroad.
To the east of Pokrovsk, Ukrainian troops are desperately attempting to hold onto their positions in the eastern part of Myrnohrad.
Russian troops are already preparing to attack Myrnohrad from the south. Sukhyi Yar, which is located nearby, has already been stormed, according to preliminary reports.

The most intense fighting took place in the northwestern outskirts of Pokrovsk. Ukraine launched a counterattack to retake the industrial sector and the city’s western entrance, while Russian forces attempted to consolidate their position along the tree lines to the southeast of Hryshyne.
As it became known, an entire unit from Ukraine’s military intelligence was neutralized by the drone operators of the Tsentr Group of Forces while taking part in the counterattack there. According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, at least 11 were killed.
As Ukraine seems incapable of stopping the collapse of defenses in Pokrovsk and nearby areas, more and more of its troops are surrendering to the Russian military.
In a video published by the Russian MoD, two Ukrainian soldiers who surrounded near Pokrovsk in recent days describe the situation in the city as “depressing.”
“There is no evacuation, the WIA (wounded in action) yell. Someone got the painkiller, others didn’t. We starved all the time. We had no water, were always thirsty. I can say nothing about medications,” one of the soldiers says.
These testimonies are not surprising. The drone operators of the Tsentr Group of Forces have been targeting almost every Ukrainian military vehicle attempting to reach Pokrovsk or any nearby areas. Intense airstrikes have been also wiping out the positions of Kiev forces, methodically.
Ukraine could have cut down its losses by ordering a withdrawal from Pokrovsk weeks ago. Now, such a step may not be even feasible.
The Russian victory taking shape in Pokrovsk will affect Kiev forces across the special military operation zone. It will be hard for Ukraine to make up for its human losses, and the morale of its troops are deteriorating rapidly. Signs of near collapse are emerging from Zaporozhye, to Dnepropetrovsk and even Kharkiv.

mr.putin has a policy of balance japie of “dont be too hard on your enemies” all well and good i am sure –the problem ?– the west thinks he is weak and wont really defend russia if it ends up ww3 that to me is a massive problem because somebody in the west will put him to the test.
