On January 21, seven personnel of the al-Quds Brigade were killed or wounded when their vehicle was targeted by militants stationed in the northwestern Syrian region of Greater Idlib.

The militants targeted the vehicle with an anti-tank guided missile (ATGM) as it was passing in the outskirt of the town of Bsartun in the western Aleppo countryside.

Opposition sources claimed that three personnel of the al-Quds Brigade were killed and four others were wounded as a result of the ATGM attack. One of the casualties was identified as Major Moayad Saad Eddina, a field commander of the al-Quds Brigade.

The Palestinian al-Quds Brigade, which has more than 1,000 fighters, has been supporting the Syrian government since 2013. The group is mainly active in Aleppo and the country’s central region.

The attack in Bsartun was most likely carried out by the al-Fateh al-Mubeen Operation Room, which is led by al-Qaeda-affiliated Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham.

Al-Fateh al-Mubeen militants violate the ceasefire in Greater Idlib on a daily basis. Earlier today, the Russian Aerospace Forces carried out a series of airstrikes on northern Lattakia in response to violations by these militants.
