On July 2, several videos documenting recent combat operations by the Russian military in the special military operation zone were posted to social networks.
Nine of the videos showed dozens of recent drone attacks that targeted Ukrainian troops, equipment and positions in Donetsk, Sumy and several other directions over the last few days. The attacks were carried out with several types of unmanned systems, from FPV suicide drones, to Lancet loitering munitions and interceptor drones.
Among the targets hit was a German-made Leopard 2A6. The main battle tank came under attack near the settlement of Pisareva in Sumy.
Three other videos showed recent airstrikes with UMPK-equipped guided glide bombs from Donetsk. The airstrikes targeted a post of the 14th Mechanized Brigade in the settlement of Novoekonomicheskoe, a crossing on the Volchya River near the settlement of Iskra and fortifications near the settlement of Andreyevka.
In addition, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced in its daily briefing that recent missile and drone strikes hit “enterprises of the Ukrainian military industry, attack drone assembly workshops and storage areas, ammunition and material depots as well as temporary deployment areas of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and foreign mercenaries” in 139 areas within the special military operation zone in the last 24 hours.
Russian air defenses shot down seven guided aerial bombs and 131 fixed-wing drones during the same period, the ministry added.
According to the ministry, Kiev forces have lost 663 aircraft, 283 helicopters, 66,608 drones, 612 air defense systems, 24,106 tanks and other armored fighting vehicles, 1,573 multiple rocket launchers, 26,847 artillery pieces, and 37,551 support vehicles since the start of the special military operation.
