On February 28 evening, air defense forces of the Syrian military were activated to repel another Israeli strikes on targets in the countryside of Damascus.
The Israeli attack came following claims by Tel Aviv that Iran launched rockets at the Israeli-owned ship in the Sea of Oman. While there was no solid evidence to blame Iran, Tel Aviv expectedly used the incident to push towards the further escalation.
