On May 26, the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) re-entered the town of Kafr Nabudah in the northern Hama countryside, which had been recently captured by Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) and its Turkish-backed allies.

According to pro-government sources, the attack began in morning of May 26. The army stormed Kafr Nabudah under a cover of Syrian and Russian warplanes forcing the terrorists to withdraw from most of their positions inside the town.
HTS has not commented on this situation, so far. However, its news network, Iba’a, reported that heavy clashes are taking place in the outskirt of Kafr Nabudah.
The terrorist group captured the town in a costly attack few days ago. The Turkish-backed National Front for Liberation (NFL) and the National Syrian Army (NSA) both participated in the attack.
If the SAA advance is confirmed, the recapture of Kafr Nabudah will be a major blow to HTS and its allies, which reportedly lost hundreds of fighters to maintain their presence in the town.
