The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) repelled on May 10 a large attack by Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) on its newly-captured positions in the town of Kafr Nabudah in the northern Hama countryside.
Muraselon, a pro-government media outlet, said that the SAA killed dozens of terrorists and destroyed three of their vehicles inside Kafr Nabudah. These massive loses forced the terrorists to withdraw. However, the army chased them, targeting their gatherings and vehicles in the town’s outskirt with heavy machine guns and anti-tank guided missiles (ATGMs).
A local news network based in Hama released several photos showing the bodies of several fighters of the Ahrar al-Sham Movement, who were killed during the heavy clashes inside Kafr Nabudah.
The town and its surroundings are currently under the control of the SAA and its allies. HTS and its allies had withdrawn to their positions east and north of the town.
Initial reports indicate that pro-government forces are planning to resume their advance in the northern and northwestern Hama countryside. Russian warplanes are currently conducting airstrikes on the terrorists’ positions in the region.
