U.S. Military Confirms It Has Been Testing Its Latest PrSM Missiles, LUCAS Drones Against Iran (Videos)

Admiral Brad Cooper, Commander of United States Central Command (CENTCOM), confirmed that the American military has been using some of its latest missiles and drones in the ongoing war against Iran.

The war broke out on February 28, with both the U.S. and Israel attacking the Islamic Republic. On the very second day, March 1, CENTCOM released video footage showing U.S. military M142 HIMARS launchers firing what appears to be the latest Precision Strike Missile (PRsM) at Iranian targets.

In a video statement released on March 4, Cooper confirmed that the missile was used in recent operations against Iran.

“Our U.S. Army soldiers are defending ourselves and our partners. In a historic first, they fired long-range precision strike missiles called PrSMs in combat, providing an unrivaled deep strike capability,” Cooper said.

The PRsM is a series of ballistic missiles, both short- and later medium-range developed by Lockheed Martin to replace the MGM-140 ATACMS, which was also fired at targets in the Islamic Republic, according to the footage released by CENTCOM.

The specific variant of the missile the U.S. military used is most likely the Increment One, or Inc 1, the only variant currently in service. The missile, which is guided via a GPS-aided inertial navigation system (INS), has a range of 500 kilometers. It carries a high-explosive fragmentation warhead, weighing 91 kg.

Cooper also confirmed in his statement that CENTCOM’s drone task force, called Task Force Scorpion Strike, launched countless one-way attack drones, achieving “massive effects.”

“I’d like to point out these drones were originally an Iranian design. We took them back to America, made them better, and fired them right back at Iran,” he said.

The commander was clearly referring to the Low-cost Uncrewed Combat Attack System (LUCAS) is a one-way attack drone, which CENTCOM announced its first combat use against Iran on March 1. The drone was developed by SpektreWorks. It is a reverse-engineered replica of the Iranian-designed HESA Shahed 136.

The LUCAS is reported to have a range of around 800 kilometers. It relies on a GPS-aided INS, but can be also equipped with an electro-optical targeting system. The drone utilizes many commercially available components. Its data-link is basically a Starlink satellite internet terminal.

While CENTCOM has not yet released any video of the LUCAS in action, footage that came out from Iraq on March 3 shows locals retrieving the near-intact wreckage of one such drone.

In the very same video statement, Cooper revealed that the U.S. has struck more than 2,000 targets in Iran since the start of the war.

“We’ve already struck nearly 2,000 targets with more than 2,000 munitions. We have severely degraded Iran’s air defenses and destroyed hundreds of Iran’s ballistic missiles, launchers, and drones,” the commander said.

“More than 50,000 troops, 200 fighters, two aircraft carriers, and bombers from the United States are participating in this operation,” Cooper added. According to him, “more capability is on the way.”

The U.S. has also destroyed 17 Iranian ships, including a submarine, Cooper noted. “Thus far, we’ve destroyed 17 Iranian ships, including the most operational Iranian submarine that now has a hole in its side,” the commander concluded.

The U.S. testing its latest weapons in a war is nothing new, but it certainly shows that Washington is going all in against Iran.

the female poles should also hang maher al-assad and suhail al-hassan, because they are equal traitors and cowards. g. dallah is a little smarter because he apologized to the israelis when he dropped a drone on them. he risked his life to prevent the israelis from bombing his soldiers. he went to the israelis and apologized, risking being shot or raped by israeli soldiers. these people love to shoot and rape anything that moves.
