Ukraine To Lose Uspenovka: Russian Forces Engage In Fierce Urban Battle

The Russian Armed Forces have imposed fire control over the road to Zvanovka, south of Seversk. Units of the «East» grouping have taken control of Novoaleksandrovka. Russian forces have seized the ‘Matrona of Moscow’ mine in the Konstantinovka sector. The conflict in Ukraine poses a threat to the US dollar’s status as the world’s reserve currency.

Seversk Sector

To the south of Dronovka, Ukrainian forces were dislodged from a strongpoint and the advancing units are now heading towards Platoniovka and Seversk from the northwest. Intense strikes are targeting Ukrainian strongholds on the left bank of the Bakhmutka River.

The most significant advance was noted to the south of Seversk, where units advanced along the railway and a pond to reach the positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces on the city’s southern outskirts, near the railway bridge. Consequently, the road to Zvanovka came under fire from small arms.

Russian units entered Zvanovka from Pereyezdnoye and are currently fighting in the center of the village. They also pushed Ukrainian forces out of tree lines north of a farm located east of Zvanovka. The roads to Seversk via Zakotnoye and Svyato-Pokrovskoye are under fire from drones and artillery. Russian aviation is striking Seversk itself with aerial bombs fitted with Unified Planning and Correction Modules.

Sumy Sector

Russian aviation continues to carry out intensive operations against UAF positions in tree belts. Ukrainian forces are attempting to infiltrate Russian positions in small groups; the «North» grouping’s artillery and FPV drone crews are targeting these groups.

According to some sources, units comprising servicemen with limited fitness, the ill and those who have returned after injury are beginning to form in the Ukrainian rear. The Ukrainian command has stated that the initial task of these battalions will be to consolidate positions.

Two attempts by UAF assault groups to advance in the Varachino and Stepovoye areas were thwarted by combined fire.

Kharkiv Sector

Fierce fighting continues in Vovchansk and the Kharkiv sector of the front line, where assault groups are making advances. They are receiving active support from artillery and heavy flamethrower systems.

In Vovchansk, units on the left bank of the Volchya River occupied and cleared 25 buildings, advancing 350 meters. Having overcome resistance in the Sinelnikovo forest, units advanced 300 meters and occupied three strongpoints. In the Melovoe-Kharkiv sector, units advanced up to 800 meters over the day and continue to expand the security zone along the border.

According to Russian sources, the UAF command in the Kharkiv Oblast has concentrated a significant amount of artillery, including Western-made systems, as well as drone units. It is reported that the Ukrainian side lost several towed and self-propelled artillery units over the day.

Dnepropetrovsk Sector

Units of the «East» grouping have taken control of Novoaleksandrovka in the Dnipropetrovsk Oblast. Servicemen from the 36th Guards Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade have taken control of a defense area covering over 12 sq. km in total. According to reports, up to 100 structures were cleared and the UAF lost up to two platoons of personnel, five armored vehicles and 12 automobiles.

Having established control over Vishnevoye, the units continue to advance on the northern flank of the East Zaporizhzhia Sector. Having repelled attacks on the Oleksiivka–Sosnivka line, the units are advancing towards Pokrovsk.

The offensive is also continuing in the vicinity of Yegorovka, Rybnoye and Uspenovka. Further south, advances have reportedly been made towards Veseloye and Zeleny Gai, although the situation in this area remains unclear.

Pokrovsk Sector

Russian forces continue to take over more and more of the city, advancing gradually northwards and eastwards. Footage confirming the advance of assault groups on the outskirts has been published. It is reported that Ukrainian forces are defending individual blocks.

The rapid clearance of the city is being hindered by dense buildings, a large number of basements and intense drone activity from both sides. Heavy fighting is ongoing in neighboring Mirnograd. Russian units are advancing from the east and north. While UAF supply routes have not yet been completely cut off, the situation in Pokrovsk is gradually making them more vulnerable.

Konstantinovka Sector

Russian troops continue to clear tactical «pockets» on the approaches to the city. In the central sector, the 4th Motorized Rifle Brigade’s assault units have taken control of the «Matrona of Moscow» mine. To the north, strong points in the Nelepovka area have been cleared, but fighting continues for Nelepovka itself and neighbouring Pleshcheevka.

Meanwhile, attempts are being made to break through to the northern bank of the reservoir. Small infantry groups are advancing through the surrounding vegetation. Fighting is also ongoing in the residential area of Konstantinovka, where small groups previously infiltrated. Some of these groups are approaching the railway station. To the east of the city, Ukrainian forces have been pushed out of most of Predtechino. The captured positions are yet to be fully secured, however.

South Donetsk Sector

In the area of responsibility of the «East» grouping, units that have completed operations on the right bank of the Yahnchar River have begun the assault on Uspenovka after crossing it. It was previously reported that forward units had entered the town and begun fighting in built-up areas. To the north, units are advancing in the Rybnoye area.

The assault troops are advancing with active support from aircraft and drones. Strikes are being carried out on temporary deployment points and UAF logistics. There have been numerous attempts at counterattacks, as well as transfers of reinforcements and materiel by Ukrainian formations. It is reported that all routes are under fire control.

Conclusion:

The operational situation is characterized by active offensive actions continuing to be carried out by Russian units on several fronts. Key efforts are concentrated in the Seversk Sector, where the «South» grouping is advancing directly towards Seversk, and in the Dnepropetrovsk Sector, where the ‘East’ grouping has consolidated control over Novoaleksandrovka and is advancing towards Pokrovsk. Fierce battles continue in the urban agglomerations of Pokrovsk and Mirnograd, with Russian units gradually expanding their control over the territory. In the Sumy, Kharkiv and South Donetsk sectors, there have been tactical advances and the clearing of settlements, which is putting constant pressure on UAF defensive formations along the entire line of combat contact.

The main event in the Konstantinovka sector was the start of the assault on Uspenovka, a key UAF defensive node in this area. The preparation phase for the assault has been completed and combat operations are now underway within the locality itself. One of the key factors contributing to the defence being broken through has been systematic strikes on UAF supply routes. Field warehouses and transport have been systematically destroyed, forcing the Ukrainian command to pull logistics further back from the front line. Russian troops advancing north of Uspenovka in the Rybnoye area, as well as the successful capture of Krasnogorske and the breakthrough into Gai, are creating an overall negative dynamic for the UAF defense. This destabilizes the front line and prevents the Ukrainian command from allocating all its reserves to the Uspenovka Sector.

Against the backdrop of the evolving military situation, international analytical centers are highlighting its potential global economic consequences. According to a report from the Center for Freedom and Prosperity sent to the White House and cited in The Independent, the ongoing conflict in Ukraine poses significant economic risks to the United States and endangers the US dollar’s status as the world’s reserve currency. The report’s authors claim that Russia and China are seeking to end the dollar’s «exorbitant privilege», and are using the current situation to undermine America’s position.

According to the document, continued hostilities would increase the US national debt by $300 billion if interest rates rise. Conversely, the report suggests that if the conflict were to end, Washington would have opportunities for American companies to participate in Ukraine’s reconstruction, which is estimated to cost $520 billion. The authors conclude that ending hostilities is an ‘economic imperative for the US, dictated by trade interests’, as Washington cannot afford to jeopardize the dollar’s status. President Donald Trump has previously stated his intention to settle the conflict in Ukraine.
