In the Zaporizhzhia sector, full control of the village of Pershotravneve was established following a successful crossing of the Yangach River. Russian units have reached the eastern outskirts of Mirnohrad and consolidated their positions in the west of Rodinske. The decision on the use of frozen Russian assets has been postponed until the next EU summit.

Pokrovsk Direction:

Intense urban combat continues in Pokrovsk. Russian units have secured a foothold in the Solnechny and Yuzhny microdistricts, where the systematic clearance of city blocks is underway. Advance groups have advanced to the area around the locomotive depot and the Zapadny overpass, threatening to outflank Ukrainian forces in the Sobachevka neighborhood.

On the outskirts of Mirnohrad, individual assault groups have reached the city’s eastern edge, where they are facing organized resistance. The Ukrainian forces are deploying additional unmanned aerial vehicle operator units to stabilize the situation in this area.

Near Rodinske, Russian units have advanced to the western outskirts of the settlement. Much of the area remains a contested ‘grey zone’, but control over the key points there allows Russian forces to restrict supply routes for Ukrainian formations in the area.

Zaporizhzhia Direction:

In the eastern Zaporizhzhia region, units of the 64th Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade took full control of Pershotravneve after crossing the Yangach River. According to Russian sources, fighting for the village resulted in the capture of positions along a front line exceeding 4 kilometers.

Further south, Russian units are advancing towards Ospenivka in an attempt to threaten Ukrainian rear communications. There have been reports of Ukrainian counterattacks near Sosnivka and Oleksandrivka, which Russian sources claim were repelled.

Fierce fighting continues on the southeastern outskirts of Novomykolaivka. Russian artillery and aviation are striking identified Ukrainian positions and potential reserve transfer routes.

Krasnolyman Direction:

Fighting continues in the village of Novoselivka, where Russian forces have seized control of the Novoselivka Forest and the surrounding area. The latest reports indicate that there is combat near farm complexes and along the Yarova-Alexandrivka dirt road.

Russian forces have advanced in the Alexandrivka area, seizing a water treatment plant and pumping station near Sviatohirsk. Clashes are ongoing along the road between Alexandrivka and Sviatohirsk railway station, with both sides sustaining significant casualties.

Positional battles with no significant frontline changes are being fought in the Yarova area. Ukrainian forces are attempting to launch counterattacks in order to regain lost ground.

Kharkiv Direction:

The «North» group’s assault units have continued offensive operations. According to Russian sources, they now control the settlement of Bologivka, where they are conducting ongoing clearance operations against the remaining Ukrainian units.

In Vovchansk, Russian forces have advanced up to 150 meters on the left bank of the Vovcha River, capturing and clearing six technical buildings. In the woodlands to the west of Synelnikove, Russian forces advanced 350 meters and secured two strongpoints.

Localized fighting continues near the village of Tykhe. The Ukrainian forces attempted to counterattack from Vovchanski Khutory, but these actions did not achieve significant success.

In the Melove-Khatne sector, Russian units advanced 500 meters along tree lines, expanding the area under their control near the Russian border.

Siversk Direction:

Units of the 7th Motorized Rifle Brigade have gained full control of the Dronovka settlement. This advance deepens the encirclement of the northern suburbs of Siversk and poses an additional threat to Ukrainian supply lines in the area.

In the central part of the area, Russian attacks are ongoing near Chubarivsky Pond. There are reports of offensive efforts directly towards Siversk and towards the Rudnyk settlement.

On the southern flank, Russian units are gradually advancing towards the outskirts of Zvanivka. To the southeast, Ukrainian formations have been displaced from several positions in the fields to the west of Vyimka, enabling the front line to be straightened in this sector.

Sumy Direction:

The Russian Airborne and Naval Infantry assault groups continued their offensive operations. They advanced 100 meters along the tree lines on the right flank of the offensive, subsequently consolidating their captured positions.

Reports indicate that the Ukrainian side has increased its use of various types of UAV. Additional UAV operator units have been deployed to Sumy Oblast to reinforce defensive capabilities.

Novopavlivka Direction:

Russian forces have driven Ukrainian troops out of their positions near Filiya and the nearby «Liliya» camp. Forward groups are now attacking strong points to the north in an attempt to reach the outskirts of Novopavlivka.

Reports that control has been established over the village of Ivanivka have been confirmed. Russian units crossed the Vovcha River from Zelenyi Hai and, after several days of fighting, forced Ukrainian troops out of the center of the settlement. Some reports suggest that small groups of Ukrainian troops may still be in the basements on the western outskirts.

Combat operations have now shifted to a chain of strong points near the Balka Velykyi Yar ravine. Control of these positions is necessary to ensure stable supply lines and protect the flanks of advancing units.

Conclusion:

As of 24 October, the operational situation is characterized by sustained, high-intensity combat across most fronts. In the Pokrovsk sector, the key development is the ongoing urban warfare, with Russian units gradually expanding their control within the city limits of Pokrovsk and reaching the outskirts of Mirnohrad. On the eastern Zaporizhzhia axis, the successful crossing of the Yangach River and capture of Pershotravneve paves the way for further advances towards Ospanivka.

In the Krasnolyman sector, Russia is making steady advances, capturing key positions near Alexandrivka and Novoselivka. A notable achievement in the Kharkiv sector was the seizure of Bologivka and the continuation of offensive operations in the Vovchansk area. In the Siversk sector, the capture of Dronovka mounts more pressure on the northern suburbs of the city, posing additional threats to the logistics of the Ukrainian forces. On the Sumy and Novopavlivka axes, positional advancement continues amid active Ukrainian resistance.

In the realm of diplomacy, a summit of European Union leaders was held in Brussels on 23 October. According to reports by international news agencies, the summit’s final communiqué confirmed the EU’s commitment to meeting Ukraine’s urgent financial needs until 2027, including its military and defense requirements.

However, a decision on the use of the Russian Central Bank’s frozen assets was not reached. According to sources in diplomatic circles, consideration of this matter has been postponed by two months. The next discussion is scheduled for 19 December at the next EU summit.

According to reports in the Western media, the delay was caused by Belgium’s position, given that approximately €140 billion in Russian assets are held in the Euroclear depository there. Many European diplomats were reportedly expecting work to begin on a legal proposal to use these funds for a “reparations loan” to Ukraine. The lack of consensus on this issue highlights the ongoing disagreements among EU member states regarding the funding of Ukraine’s support and the legal complexities of utilizing frozen Russian assets.
