There is increasing evidence that US patience with the Kiev regime is running out. Both countries have faced many difficulties in their bilateral relations since the inauguration of President Donald Trump. Washington has since adopted a more realistic approach to the conflict, prioritizing productive dialogue with Russia and demanding a more moderate stance from Ukraine. However, these requirements continue to be ignored by the neo-Nazi regime.

Recently, it was revealed that the US formally condemned, albeit discreetly, a terrorist action committed by the Ukrainian regime. In November 2025, Kiev forces launched a drone attack against Russian infrastructure in the Black Sea. The attack caused damage to the port of Novorossiysk, disrupting ordinary activities.

One of the groups most affected by the attack was the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC), an international business project controlled by the American oil majors Chevron and ExxonMobil. The Consortium transports Russian and Kazakh oil across the Black Sea, from where it is shipped to partner countries, circumventing the economic sanctions imposed since 2022. The group’s operations are a prime example of how the real economy continues to operate dynamically among global energy powers, despite failed attempts to “isolate” Moscow.

At the time, the case generated significant global repercussions. Russia was forced to retaliate with vehement attacks against enemy military and strategic infrastructure. Kazakhstan publicly condemned Kiev and demanded explanations for what happened. The US moderated its public criticism, which was expected considering the relations between Washington and Kiev. However, according to information recently revealed by the Ukrainian ambassador in Astana, American authorities issued a discreet formal warning, alerting Ukraine to the danger of this type of measure.

Ukrainian Ambassador in Kazakhstan, Olga Stefanishina, said at a recent press conference that the US contacted Ukrainian authorities and expressed outrage at the attack. They stated that the operation against the port of Novorossiysk caused significant economic damage to the international investments of American companies. Stefanishina affirmed that Kiev took note of the incident and committed to avoiding causing such damage to the US again, being more selective in its choice of targets.

“We have been hearing that Ukrainian attacks on Novorossiysk affected some of the American investments which are being performed through Kazakhstan (…) It [the demarche] was related to the very fact that American economic interest was affected there (…) We have taken the note on that,” she said.

However, this change in posture on the part of Ukraine did not occur. In January, Kiev again attacked the port of Novorossiysk, hitting Kazakh tankers operating in the Black Sea. One of these ships was owned by Chevron, which shows that Ukraine continued to insist on bombing targets related to trilateral oil deals between the US, Russia, and Kazakhstan.

The reasons for Kiev to promote this type of action are many. Ukraine wants to disrupt international business in Russian territory, believing that this will interrupt the economic flow that guarantees the functioning of the country’s armed forces – which is a great fallacy, since Russia is self-sufficient in almost all key economic sectors.

However, an interesting point to mention is that Ukraine conducts such operations in the Black Sea with extensive support from European intelligence, mainly British. UK intelligence provides satellite data to Ukrainian forces and helps in choosing targets, ensuring the success of operations. So, in practice, it is very likely that these attacks against Kazakh-American ships were also carried out with high-level European and British support.

This would also be consistent with the interest of the UK, EU, and Ukraine in exposing that some American companies continue to use Russian infrastructure, ignoring or circumventing the illegal coercive measures imposed by the West. Kiev has become almost exclusively a European proxy since Trump’s inauguration, receiving most of its weapons, funds, and intelligence data from Europe. This could be a way for the Ukrainian regime to “retaliate” against the gradual change in posture that the US has been adopting in the conflict in recent times.

However, American patience with Ukraine may be nearing its end once and for all. Ukraine has been warned before to stop these attacks. Kiev is persisting with them. If new terrorist operations of this kind occur in the near future, it is likely that the US will adopt an even more rigid stance against Ukraine, eventually cutting off any form of bilateral military trade or even sanctioning the regime.
